What happened to the theory that whoever came through the Hawaii region would be so battle tested they'd breeze through the finals. Anyone remember all the posts saying that? USC survived a very tough regional in Honolulu, they could have been gassed from the travel and the amount of energy they expended against Hawai'i and Pepperdine. Perhaps fatigue offset whatever benefits they would have gotten by playing against tough(er) competition. I give USC credit for what they accomplished this season. If Illinois was sent to Hawai'i and USC was sent to Florida would we even be having this conversation? Jupiter 32 kills, 1 off of her career best Bateman with a season high 65 assists and 13 digs Williams 18 kills 1 off her career high while hitting .448 Hagglund 31 digs, 2 off of her career high Shaw 18 digs, 1 off of her career high Does not sound like to me like they were gassed. Actually it looks more to me like they all played very well. No more excuses please.

Jupiter's stats were juiced by a rotation change which arguably cost USC g3.
She had a great g4, but otherwise Illinois shut her down OR shut the rest of USC down while she collected a bunch of kills. Unless she plays like she did in g4 OR she scores against McMahon in gs 1, 2 and 5 (which she did not), that's a losing formula for the Trojans.

I said earlier that you can't expect to continue to come from behind after being down 2 games to 1 and expect to win all the time, Illinois made more plays than USC did down the stretch.

All this chest thumping from some Illini fans is hilarious. The Illini beat USC in 5 games, they did not sweep the Women of Troy. It was a good match, be happy instead of whining over what you feel is a lack of respect.

Interesting side note - Illinois has now beaten USC two times in a row when USC was ranked #1. Illinois is now 3-2 against USC.
Congratulations to both teams - this was a championship caliber match. Hagglund and Beltran were outstanding.

Jupiter is a GREAT PLAYER but unfortunately for U$C she started late in this match and had she played the first 2 games like she played the last three this match would have been over in 3 not 5. That was my only point. She looked nervous, or tired, or distracted, or something but she was not playing up to her ability during the first two games, and I am talking more about her play other than hitting. That is all.....every coach in America would love to have a Jupiter in their line-up Excuse me, I hate to interrupt with some facts but USC LOST 2 of the 3 sets when Jupiter WAS hot and won one where she wasn't. Jupiter may end up as POY and I won't argue that but one person doesn't win or lose a match. Your argument is lacking in facts. Smiley, there is more to this game than hitting. Her serve receive and her passing as well as her defense were not good for the first half of the match. Forget the f---ing rotation too. She did not play a real solid match in any of the first three sets, all around. Yeah her hitting picked up but the rest of her game was lackluster, period!

I find that when a team hits harder and serves tougher than you are accustomed, your serve-receive and defense don't look as good.

I'm not sure if you have anyone else specific in mind, but please try to forgive smiley. He may get riled up fairly easily, but I'm pretty sure he means well. Personally, I'm thrilled about the outcome of an excellent match between two very good teams. Jupiter was awesome at times offensively, especially when she got on that roll in the 4th. (And she was deserving of POY in my humble opinion.) Hagglund was amazing the whole way through. I hadn't seen all that much of USC during the regular season, but I'll have to make it a point to watch more in the future just to see her play. Williams was strong for good parts of the match as well. On this night, Illinois just had a little more depth to their attack, a little better serve receive, and played a little better at the end of a couple sets. But either team would have been more than worthy of playing UCLA for the title tomorrow. Also, to any Nebraska fans in attendance who may have left before the Illinois section started the post-match "Thank you, Huskers!" chant, I'd just like to echo that sentiment here. You guys were great when we visited The Coliseum and again last night with the display of conference solidarity. (Especially for being the newcomers who might not have gotten much support from other teams' fans in your inaugural season.) We'll see you again tomorrow and hopefully the Illini can beat another tough Pac 12 team to finally bring home a championship for the Big 10 from somebody other than Penn St for once...

LOL, I just saw the "Troll" designation for NitLeLiun. All I can say is congratulations!! I know you have worked hard to earn this distinguished honor with your complete contempt for anything other than PSU volleyball. You are only a one star troll however, so more work is needed. I know what you could do, make the team picture much larger, say at least half a screen height in size. That's a good start, and greatly reduces contrasting opinions on the same page.

Actually to do that all you need to do is keep the team photo the same size and just add one of RR.

Is that what we're spelling? Well, that makes more sense.
