2manytourneys, Yes, you did make your factual statements very clear. However, your logic does not make sense. Perhaps we can try this again. If Miss Alvey is both a good person and can coach at a high level, why is she struggling at Cincinnati? I can only judge your comments on what you write. It appears that you are saying that a good coach/person at Cincinnati can still fail. If that is the case and since you have such great inside information, please do tell. Please answer the following: (1) As to Miss Alvey's first year when they went 12-20 with six seniors, why did they lose so many matches? (2) I will give you some multiple options to chose and you can add your own; (a) becasue they had a ridicolouse schedule put tpgether by Reed or Alvey; (2) they had a key transer, their setter( after the spring semester) and could not find a reasonable replacement; (3) there was a culture among the seniors that Miss Alvey could not handle; or (4) you fill in the answer________; (3) This year they appeared very young from their roster and the recruiting class did not pan out, early injuries hurt them and they could not build any momentum, is this true? Again, just looking from the outside, perhaps you have inside information, is this Miss Alvey's fault or other factors, please do share your knowledge; (4) What is coming back, what recruits are coming in, have any recruits decommitted? Since you have inside information, do tell. Finally, it is very easy to criticize and seek a firing. Seems very harsh to me, but that may now be the way of the world of volleyball. O by the way, why was Reed fired? Since you know so much, please do tell. Fill in your own answers, Dude. That's what you want to do anyway. Several people have tried to answer your questions. You refuse to listen. For instance, I already explained that while she is a decent person and good enough coach to succeed in high level volleyball l, this program has gotten away from her. Bottom line: The program has not been maintained. It has quickly unraveled.

From the coach's twitter feed: @coachalveyuc: It's a GREAT day to be a Bearcat!! Just landed a Top 30 recruit in the country for 2015. GO BEARCATS! #BearcatNation Gotta be careful with NCAA recruiting rules. Not to mention...Top 30 in whose mind? In their own mind? Their own evaluation? And how many 3 star athletes end up outshining the 5 star athletes because of work ethic, character, and the coach they play for? And what if she transfers because it ain't exactly what she wanted? This is fluff. This is using a bucket to bail water out of the Titanic....or at least large cargo ship. And you don't "land" anybody anymore until the NLI arrives. VB is becoming FB faster than we care to admit. If they are bombing next Fall and November rolls around, if this kid is truly Top 30, second thoughts are bound to enter her head. Especially if her recruiting coach is on thin ice. Social media is a joke. It's all talk and rainbows.

What "official" release? I'm going out on a limb here because I'm not sure a coach's cryptic text would be considered an "official" release, but if you look back a few pages in this thread you will see that mnsports announced Cinci's signing of a Northern Lights setter. The NL setter has a RS teammate (PV Top 50 Jrs) that was previously uncommitted. First name: Jordan. That's my guess.

IF this is true then good for Molly. Not quite. Jordan decommited a long time ago (summer) from Syracuse because she didn't feel like the school was an optimal fit for her. She had looked at a variety of schools since September, but seemed to always favor Cincy. She finally pulled the trigger and committed last week.

The four appear to be S Kristin Conor (I believe Molly has brought in a setter from Houston, so no shock here), MB Breanna Barksdale (was UC's most efficient attacker last year and 2nd in blocks), MB Samantha Schrenker (played in 25 of 32 matches), and OH Mallory Blauser (played in 18 of 32 matches). Barksdale is the only big one. Anybody know where she's going? Well, add another Freshman to the departure list...Shelby Green, DS... one of only two players to play in all 121 sets for the Bearcats ... collected 407 digs (3.36 digs/set) to lead the team ... also led the team with 30 service aces while ranking third with 70 assists ... named to the Spartan Invitational All-Tournament team... With 5 Out of the 6 that came in last year, there's only one standing...Ciara Hill, an effective OH, but I'm sure feeling quite lonely right about now! Looks like Barksdale, the most efficient hitter and blocker for the Bearcats last year, is headed to the SEC with Auburn...

Also, I saw on their website that they have a 2008 Beijing Olympic Goid Medalist coming to do a volleyball camp with them. Alot of good things going on!!
Since I live here, and see that their are many opinions on this post, I can say that there have been many changes with this program. But after watching some of their matches last year I am happy that the coach decided to revamp the roster, wasn't pretty last fall. Including the latest Shleby Green, but this DS was a walk-on and the best option on the team for last year for that position. And her numbers ranked high on the team but no where to the top of the conference. Let's not forget about the State Champion Libero that is coming in next fall. Good luck and GOBEARCATS!

Bearcat volleyball has become inconsequential except to a few family members.
