Sadly that backfired because 1. Every single texas fan has stated dalton is a setter I'm beginning to think that you don't realize that this means nothing... It means more than two trolls who have no evidence to defend themselves claiming she's not.

I'm very happy with Bugg at Stanford so no, that's not the reason. Well, if Jerritt does what I think he's going to do, he'll run a 6-2. Dalton is a better setter than hitter IMO and with Bell, Eckerman, Webster, and Bannister there she will probably not be needed to hit. Collins is the best setter in her class (IMO, I guess) and is more than good enough to run the offense by herself. If Jerritt is smart, he will eventually realize that 6-2's don't work. If this epiphany occurs during the time that both of these girls are at Texas, he'll realize that he must choose one or the other (and I give him credit, I think this will happen soon). Considering their talents, I don't think either of them will want to sit the bench regardless of where they go to school. And in reference to Murphy, what I meant to say is that it is frustrating to see her running a 6-2 when she would be more effective as a 6-rotation opposite. Happy now, TexVB? You said this in a texas thread. So tell me again how dalton is not a setter? (I dont know how to quote from other threads so I just copied and pasted it Why do you say 6-2's don't work? It's been proven to work. Cuba dominated the world doing it. Nebraska, Washington, USC all did it and won big. True you need the right personal to make it work but that's the case with any system. If you have 2 Leftsides who can play 6 rotations and dominate pin players with comparable setters it's a nice system.

If by "won big," you mean "won a national championship," then no, Nebraska and Washington never "won big" in a 6-2.

Texas has not been able to demonstrate that they can win at a tournament level running a 6-2.
But it could be due to not having the right personnel as you have noted. All I can say is if Collins is going to set for the team, I hope it's in a 6-2. I would prefer Dalton in a 5-1, because with her height and abilities, her hitting and blocking could be a plus for the team and tournament prospects.

Didn't mean that. But They were Final Four teams. Teams have won National championships doing it and multiple gold medals.

When is the 2014 schedule coming out?
Men's basketball released their non-conference schedule this week. Volleyball needs to step it up!

If only you knew how to use the quote function... Just found out how to quote from a different thread. Quoted it for proof. So While you may never have thought dalton was a setter, Chis did and Im pretty sure the only reason he said dalton was not a setter, Is because I claimed she was and he just wanted to start an argument. Sadly that backfired because 1. Every single texas fan has stated dalton is a setter 2. He himself stated she was a better setter than OH I'm flattered that you took the time out to go and find that quote. You're right, I did say that...2 YEARS AGO. If I remember correctly, Dalton and Collins weren't even at Texas yet. Anyway, things change. Dalton has always been a capable setter. I never argued against that. It's her leadership skills/intangibles that are in question. I thought she had them earlier, but I was wrong. Nothing against her as a player, but an elite setter has a set of intangibles that you can't teach. Look at Carlini, Glass, Fofao, Naz, etc. Nice try though.

I'm beginning to think that you don't realize that this means nothing... It means more than two trolls who have no evidence to defend themselves claiming she's not. This is coming from the guy who thinks Dalton should run a 5-1 next season based on a two minute clip he saw of Texas playing a spring match in which we saw Dalton set a total of FOUR balls.

I don't care if you think she's not a good setter anymore. I never had a problem with people saying collins should start. That's not why I quotted you. I quotted you because you said DALTON IS AN OH, and not a SETTER. You can change your mind on the skill of a player, but you can't change your mind on the position of her.

You have poor reading comprehension skills. I've watched dalton set in 2012, those clips and I've talked too MANY Texas fans. I rather listen to fans of the program, who attend the spring matches.

Now I recommend you stay away from both of these Texas haters or this thread will need to be locked for good.
