What is going on with Eckerman? Her stats aren't that great. Setter inconsistencies. They finally found where she needs it. Look at the stats of her last 4-6 games. That's about when they started figuring it out

Texassports.com has a nice profile on Molly McCage. Texas is 2nd in the nation in blocking, lead by McCage. She's such a hard worker and has been great for the team. Enjoy! "National champion. AVCA All-America Honorable Mention selection. All-Big 12 First Team choice. Big 12 All-Freshman Team selection. Number 1 high school recruit in the nation. Two-time captain of the United States Girls' Youth National Team that won gold in 2010. High school All-American. After reading junior middle blocker Molly McCage's accolades, one would think she's loved volleyball her entire life, but that's not the case. In fact, McCage hated the sport when she first started playing. "I was terrible," McCage said. "I was really bad. I begged my dad not to take me to practice. I wanted to be on the B team, because I thought I wasn't good enough." For me, she is a good example of a top player from high school / club who has been able to develop at the right pace to become a top college volleyball player.
With Eckerman and Bell gone next year, we'll need more from Molly on offense. I think she will do it.
And what, exactly, is the "right pace" for a #1 recruit to develop?

After watching the Wisky v. Minn. match last night I imagined what it would have been like to have Carlini as the setter for Texas last year and this year. I think Texas would be looking at several National Championships. Oh well, it is nice to imagine seeing Eckerman, Bell, Chi, McCage, all getting set with one on one opportunities. Wisconsin is the real deal this season, they are a great team, loads of talent. Carlini is wonderful in every aspect of the sport and puts a beautiful ball up from anywhere. I watched that match _WI vs MN and wow, they impressed, MN fought hard at the end but WI won it. They will be an assured contender for Oklahoma City, and what an accomplishment to win it. Of course they will have to play just as well if not better to win, but they will get even better and that's scary to me. If Carlini chose Texas, she'd be a huge play maker. I wish Wisconsin all the luck to stay healthy and play hard and may the best team win it all, of course my friends and I will be in OKC to watch the showdown, it's always fun to be surrounded with people of the same liking. Great job to Wisconsin. Texas Washington Penn State Wisconsin Florida State Stanford All legit shots at winning , I can't wait to see the seeding and the matches! We still have a ton of season to play, but I'm excited. Carlini isn't a great playmaker now? She can only be annointed if she is a Longhorn?

Since Texas seems to have things figured out better, I doubt the rivalry match will be all that close. Pretty impressive what Texas did to Kansas State in what looked like one of their bigger league challenges.

Wasn't trying to mean it as rude or make anyone angry, Carlini is amazing regardless.... She is absolutely a playmaker, I wish she played for Texas LOL. Watching her in the Under A match back in Kansas City, wow, she hit and set and was wonderful. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you angry, wasn't my intention. To me she is like glue at Wisconsin, Wisconsin has gorgeous passing and she runs her offense from there, she's amazing!

Pretty impressive what Texas did to Kansas State in what looked like one of their bigger league challenges. You would think so, but I remember an underdog OU team coming into Gregory 3 or 4 years ago and beating Texas and I believe stopping a Texas winning streak at Gregory. When it comes to the Texas / OU rivalry, you never know and Texas is due for a loss, although I think it will be on the road.
Should be a great atmosphere. No excuses for fans not showing up as the Football game on tv is at 11:00!

A rticle about the current winning streak at Gregory Gym. I wish they had waited until after the OU match tomorrow night to write the article! Don't want to mess up the Burnt Orange JUJU!
And a timely picture of an "uncaring / mailing" it in Haley Eckerman from the TCU Match Wednesday night! The Magic of Gregory GymFor Eckerman, there is nothing better than playing in front of a sold-out crowd at Gregory.
"It's such a great environment," Eckerman said. "I love being here and knowing we're going to have support, no matter who we are playing. On and off the court, everyone supports us."[Well Almost Everyone!]

Haley Eckerman is probably my favorite player out there. Even amongst my own wahine. I spoke to her when they played hawaii, and took a pic and she was NOTHING but sweet and humble.

Texas is playing Zhejiang, the Chinese Volleyball League Champions, tonight and tomorrow at Gregory. Anybody going?
I wonder how much the loss to OU will affect attendance. Attendance was probably going to be low anyway with match being on Monday and Tuesday nights.
I'll probably go tomorrow night since I want to stay home tonight and watch the Dallas Cowboy game against the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football.
How much does Elliott play around with the lineup tonight? Does losing to OU result in him being more serious & sticking with his usual lineup?
Does Amy play? I say no.
Both matches will be on the LHN at 7:00 pm.Purchase tickets now to see No. 2 Volleyball host Zhejiang See the Longhorn take on the reigning Chinese Volleyball League Champions in two special matches Oct. 27 and 28. SCHEDULE Match #1: Texas Volleyball vs. Zhejiang Monday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. Gregory Gym
Match #2: Texas Volleyball vs. Zhejiang Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. Gregory Gym

For those wondering how Paulina got in under full ride scholarship, well they announced it at the 2nd match against the Chinese team on how it was possible....Khat Bell will be playing UT Basketball in 2015 and has allowed Prieto to have her final year full ride, Brooks is still a walk on. As stated in another post a while back, I didn't want to say anything until it was announced, it has been and here it is. There is your full story! It's a great one of team unity !!
