I understand Barbarian...
Like I said, to talk smack on Beachman is one thing, but to to throw out overstated and untrue statements like Idahoboy did offends OTHERS, like me...
Heck, I wasn't even gonna get into the bickering...
You're right though... We do have a lot of home matches against easy teams, and a few quality teams (Utah, USD, etc)... I'm definitely not arguing with that... It was probably to get our new girls some practice...

I just figured out why LBSU fans are the way they are.
They suffer from football-envy. LOL.
And give me a break, the Pyramid is nice, yes, but you don't start farting up roses just because you go there to watch a volleyball match.
The fact that the general public is only allowed access to one endline gets an overall thumbs down in my opinion.

While I'm at it, Gaucho fans also suffer from football envy. Hehe.

Boy, I hope they are the thornless variety!

Yes, we do in fact miss football...
But CHECK YOUR FACTS before YOU post Barcelona - WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL has the whole arena OPEN...
It's only MEN'S VOLLEYBALL where they only have one side open - because not many people are interested in a college sport that fields less than 35 teams...
And that STILL doesn't change the validity of my post which referenced the national titles, legendary players, legendary coaches, yada yada yada...

Now let's talk about IDAHO volleyball... Oh yeah, that's right... Now THAT's a program that WILL NEVER enjoy the distinction of a program like Hawaii - or, may I add - LONG BEACH STATE... Talking about Idaho would actually fit the topic of this thread: BIG WEST CONFERENCE. However, Beachman had to throw Hawaii into the mix, and a silly insult considering LBSU's schedule this season. Correction: Stan Sheriff Center holds 10,000, not 8000. Hawaii averages twice as many fans + that LBSU averages, and holds more than twice as much the Pyramid does (even if there has been talk about expanding it for the past umpteen years). I wouldn't say that Idaho will never enjoy the distinction of a Hawaii or a Long Beach. Never is a very long time and things are changing in the volleyball world. Idaho is constantly overachieving, something that Long Beach has had difficulty with in recent years. Idaho is recruiting very solidly and landing most of the recruits they are chasing. Idaho looks good and makes the community proud. That's all that we ask for, everything else is sweet icing on the cake... and it's becoming very thick lately. Note for UCSB fans, don't even get me started on the BlunderDome. So, LBSU fans, can anyone tell me why Long Beach's schedule is so paltry this year? San Diego, Utah, and possibly Notre Dame or the only non-conference opponents that will be in the postseason. I don't expect LBSU to win the Big West. They are relying on the fact that they are hosting the NCAA's to make the tourney this year, I believe. How many games does it typically take a traditional powerhouse to beat a Northeastern, anyway?

"Note for UCSB fans, don't even get me started on the BlunderDome." I wouldn't think of it, your grace.

Check my post...
I'm not arguing with that...
I didn't make the schedule thank you very much...
We have a new line up... Mazzarella, who looks the same as last year, Heather Hetzer - brand new, Alexis Crimes, BRAND NEW, Dyanne Lawlor- BRAND NEW... etc...
Not to mention we don't have Erika Chidester or Natalie Uhart right now...
And that most of the squad actually underwent surgery in the Spring... Call that an excuse if you want... But it's a legitimate excuse...
They tried playing Erika one night against Northeastern, and she COULD NOT EVEN SWING - literally... So she's not playing right now...
So yeah, we have a weak schedule... No doubt about that...
But hey, the young players are getting some practice - and the other players are still healing...
So i'm not complaining... Plus I get to watch them play more... ;D
So yeah, it takes 5 games to beat a Northeastern, when you use a certain Erika Chidester who was pushing the ball over the net every time due to not being PHYSICALLY ABLE to hit the ball... And why Jillian kept on setting her, I HAVE NO IDEA... Thank you...
But it took 4 Games to beat a ranked Utah, who took another Big West school, Irvine, to 5 games... Which coincidentally propelled us into the rankings for some strange reason...
BTW, isn't San Diego any good?
GO BEACH!!!

San Diego is very good.
Too bad that LBSU fans won't see many other non-conf. opponents that are, too.

Ain't it great? The season's really started. ;D Yes, it's great that the season is finally in full swing... Now that Surfin D Beach is back on a regular basis. I just don't think we've discussed all the merits of that "lightweight feather merchant " preconference schedule the Beach is playing this year. ;D

Talk about jealousy Idahoboy... 5 national titles - and the legendary players /coaches to come out of it speak for themselves... The Pyramid is still one of women's volleyball's premier venues, along with Hawaii and Nebraska... Check your facts: 5 national titles in volleyball or did you add some other sport?

Well one thing about it: With Hawaii you don't need the addendum cause for 5 weeks they play all of their matches at home And all against top rate opponents, not cream puffs the likes of which LBSU likes to play to pad their wins! Btw IB, thanks for setting Beachman straight in my absence. I'm up and running again.
