OHHHH please spare me the complexed arguments that make no sense after you're backed into a wall!
Like a politician, you TWIST my statements, because you can't do anything else!
It's my arena - like the rest of my fellow STUDENTS at Long Beach State who contribute 1.8 Million Dollars to the athletics department every year...
Check the facts? What facts? Again, an illogical argument...
YOU OBVIOUSLY DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL... If you did, you'd know that when schools talk about THEIR CHAMPIONSHIPS, they include championships before Women's Volleyball became an NCAA SPORT... But of course, you probably still don't comprehend...
We have 2 AIAW National Titles - including 1 undefeated season...
That was the case with any school which played before 1981...
So how's about you check YOUR FACTS, before you insist on me checking mine...
Furthermore, Heather Hetzer DOES know how to hit... In fact she has LOTS of hops and hits pretty well... she's just not as stupid as some players who hit as hard as they can no matter what... It's called SHOT SELECTION...
And finally, how the heck would you know about the athletics department and I? I am a STUDENT, who has been working INdirectly with athletics since freshman year through the student government... Therefore it would be impossible for your statement to hold true, because we partially FUND the athletic department!
GO BEACH!!!

Barcelona, yeah, we have low level bleachers on THE ONE ENDZONE that is not completed... THE REST of the Pyramid is OPEN... That includes general seating in section 111 and the 2 surrounding sections, as well as section 107 and its surrounding sections... Why are you arguing about MY arena? I think i'd know a little more about my school, thank you very much... Let's review the argument here, for those who haven't been keeping up: Surfin D Incorrect Facts first point: The whole arena is OPEN during women's season. SonofAPompousAss' reply: The low-rise bleachers on one endline isn't open to the general public. Surfin D Incorrect Facts second point: See above. Make up your mind, is the WHOLE ARENA open or not? I say it's not. For someone who calls the Pyramid "my arena", you sure can't give me a straight answer. Besides, the Pyramid has open bench seating in multiple sections....BLEH.

Maybe we LBS fans should just "roll over" and concede two losses to the Gauchettes.......I don't think so! Me thinks we will just play the matches and see what happens!

Beachman I hope that Long Beach has a great season - and they play a good match with the Gauchos (and of course the Gauchos win) ;D ;D ;D. The UCSB vs. Long Beach matches are always great matches to watch – even though I dislike the seating at the pyramid. A question - why doesn’t Long Beach schedule USC and UCLA, they are close, and they would provide a great matchs for Long Beach? Is there too much emphasis on getting into the NCAAs? Playing UCLA and USC would not hurt the budget, and I have a feeling that Brian and the young ladies would shine against them.

I think USC/UCLA wants to play stronger teams......

I'll take that - no argument from me...
There's no doubt that i'm "true to my school"... LOL... ;D
As for Barcelona...
WHAT FACTS? Are you clinically INSANE?
OPEN is a BROAD TERM... in this context, it meant THE SEATING WAS AVAILIBLE to SIT IN...
During Men's Volleyball ,we only have one side of the pyramid OPEN TO SEATING...
During Women's matches, ALL SECTIONS ARE OPEN FOR SEATING...
And yes, the low bleachers can be used by the general public... usually it's used by guests who pay no mind to the ticket... But students can sit there if they wanted... Members of the community and some Cal Juniors players sit there, as well as special guests...
No matter how you twist it, it's OPEN FOR SEATING...
If you want to talk about WHO sits in the seats... WHO CARES? General admission is in section 111, 107 and surrounding sections, etc...
Why would you care if you sat on low level bleachers anyway? That side of the Pyramid is not FINISHED - big deal... Wouldn't you rather sit in the actual finished bleachers?
I think there's miscommunication going on, because we're definitely not looking at the same situation...
You are a very strange man... Most people would see this as a simple subject, but apparently, you don't see it that way...
And once again, the arena belongs to Long Beach State students (I AM ONE, THEREFORE IT'S MY PEERS' and MINE), and university community...
You are one strange man...
GO BEACH!!!

GAUCHOS RULE THE BIG WEST!!!!!!!!! I wouldn't say that the Gauchos rule the Big West. Although they did win the conference title last year, they lost to CSU Northridge, UC Irvine, IDAHO and Cal Poly. However, you peeps did show Long Beach State the loss column twice. And that is a gratifying and noteworthy accomplishment. ;D I think the Gauchos will lose some Big West matches again this year also.

ReP U$C and UCLA, up until about two years ago, Long Beach couldn't get U$C to play us under any conditions,,,,,nearly ditto for UCLA. Not sure about the last couple of years though. As far as the Pyramid goes, it is a phenomenal venue and everyone who plays there says so! There is no comparison between it and the facilities that any of the Big West schools play in.....sorry UCSB and UOP but the truth hurts don't it!
