It looks like the ACC landed two of the more competitive first round matches in the tournament. Duke-Hawaii Miami-UCF
UNC sees USC in the second round. USC is maybe the trickiest at large to figure. Most of the team was in last year's final four. On the other hand, they have 15 losses. They did, however, sweep Kentucky, a team that took UNC to 5. Potentially a very tough test, but it seems like you should have a tough test to get into the second weekend.
FSU gets Alabama in the second round and then likely the winner of Arizona-BYU.
I think Pitt getting left out comes down to their losing both Virignia Tech matches.

Sorry, about that. They were final 8, lost in 5 to Washington. Should have said almost in the final 4.

I vote for Taner as DPOY, but then again I'll admit I'm biased. Well Said. She's the best overall player as a libero in the ACC and one of the top liberos in the country. Not only she can dig and serve but can set as well as any setter in the ACC. She's second in service aces and second in digs and has one of the highest serving % for any libero in the ACC. She should be the DPOY.

Sad that ACC only got four bids. They certainly deserved at least five but I guess Pitts RPI got in the way..

I agree^^^^ VT should be in ahead of Mich St! Its been a while since I added it up, but I believe the acc top8 vs big10 top8 won head to head 5-4. The more I look at things I'm feeling the committee went the path of least resistence and phoned a lot of decisions in.

Surprised about your negative comment about Katie George. It would be nice if she were a little taller, but I think she connects well with her middles, makes good choices, is quick and plays great defense. I haven't seen her a lot but when I have, she is great. Agree w/Mavericks. George makes a much better libero than setter.

Congratulations to Ece Taner!!! Savannah Leaf ACC player of the year and Haley Templeton Freshman of the year.
It was a great year for ACC volleyball and I hope that continues over the next 3 weeks.
I was rooting for Nelson for player of the year, but Leaf's numbers and the fact that she plays all the way around makes the coaches' choice understandable. In addition to their both being terrific players.
Also, big congratulations to Coach Sagula! UNC was voted 3rd in the pre-season poll, they did better than that in conference.
