If you're admitting Nicole was bad last year how is it they were voted 7th in the state?

Ok I said I was going to stay off the boards, but I will comment (I will not be commenting on the other thread for obvious reasons). Yes Nicolet has struggled the past 2 years, the reason we have been playing all Freshman and Sophomores primarily. Of our current starters this year. 5 of them have are in their 3rd year playing on the varsity level, and 3 of them are Juniors.
Are we the 7th best team in the state, I dont know. I know that we went to Kettle Moraine last weekend and beat Arrowhead and Hale, and split with Franklin in pool play. We then lost in the quarters to CMH in 3 in a very good match.
Coaches when voting for the top 10 are very reactionary. Do well in the weekend tournament get a high ranking.
I am excited to see where we stack up against Tosa East tonight, and see how we do in Racine. Even if we do make it out of our tough pool we have a brutal cross over. It is a long season and frankly state rankings do not mean all that much (Brookfield East was barely ranked at all last year and they were the talk of the state).

You're not commenting but yet you commented. Come on, the more discussion the better. Let's promote the sport.
The top 10 should be reactionary. If a team has a great week, they should be rewarded. It's better to vote that way instead of keeping things the same every week with little change.

Tosa East beat Nicolet in 3. 25-18 25-22 25-16. Nicolet played pretty well but was out served and passed by Tosa East.

New Berlin United over Marquette 25-20, 25-11 and 25-21. Marquette played their bench. No starters saw the court. Rumor has it all the seniors are taking their ACTs on Saturday so the coach wanted to use players he would be playing this weekend.

Get discussions going, the forum is a unique aspect to this sport and gets more people involved. Fans, coaches, and players make this sport. Also I am hoping more coaches will vote for the top 10 as the season progresses, that also makes for more talk. Sounds like a good week of volleyball ahead of us, can't wait!

Seriously, give away a match because boys are being boys?? Nice luxury to have (or insanity).

Kudos to the MUHS coach for seeing the big picture and doing the right thing to help his players become better people. Glad that he took a stand. The players won't make that mistake again. Great to see the coach upholding the school's values. Classy move. Other local coaches could take a lesson from him.

Sully is an AP at an MPS school. He values good behavior and expects high standards out of all his players. He also has 4 WIAA State Championships in 7 years. Pretty sure he knows what he is doing. Side note: I'm glad the tradition of warming up in the halls still exists for the MUHS team. I just hope they are smarter next time.

For Racine this weekend, does anyone know which pools are being played where? I know in years past some have been at Park and some at Case.

Really, did they ruin the banners on purpose or was it a mistake? I hope Eddy Lacy doesn't wreck a banner at Lambeau prior to the game ... he'll then be benched to "learn a lesson."

Does anyone truly know what Sully is dealing with on his team? He's one of the most respected coaches in the sport, how about we quit speculating on something none of us truly know for sure. Good luck to everyone this weekend at Racine...Pools 3 and 6 are at Case
Pool 3 is CMH New Berlin Middleton Madison West
Pool 6 is Kaukauna Waukesha West Case Nicolet
