Has no clue Did you WATCH the match or listen ?? I watched and far to many sets were moonbeamed so high the ball came down with ice on it. You think those moonbeams which took a half hour to come down stressed the FSU defense ?? MP also had some very nice quicks to the middles. For the most part when MP received the ball on a decent pass she okay. Still, even on to many of those she moonbeamed the set into the stratosphere. Thank you. I'm not even saying Mary is bad. She's not. She's a very good setter, but IMO, she needs a lot of work if she wants to succeed in the b1g. A setter makes all the difference and from what I've seen of hunter in highschool and club, plus what people and cook have said about her, she seems like the one to do that. Now she won't be carlini and be this other worldly player, but she will make a difference She has already succeeded in the Big 10? I don't think she is a great setter, and I do like Hunter, the issue was not the setter. You can't pass and serve like that and have a nightmare performance by your best player and win vs a good opponent. People want to see wholesale changes after a loss to a good team? Did they make them after losing to a much weaker Auburn last year, or did they just get better?

I don't entirely agree with you about the match being tougher for FSU. FSU nothing to lose, no pressure. Actually Nebraska is a notoriously slow starting team. Agree that it is obviously a very tough challenge for FSU to play a team that good at home, but they do get to play the match with house money so to speak. I don't understand Nebraska's slow start then. They should have had a leg up on everyone else given that they started playing earlier than everyone else with trips to Japan and China and scrimmaged against those pro teams in June-July. Slow start in games not season.

Damn. This is one of those matches where I don't know what to feel. I hate both teams equally. I want to be happy that Nebraska lost, especially at home, but... frickin' FSU. Yuck.

The Kelly vs Mary debate reminds of a football team. The most popular player is always the backup quarterback. Then when the backup finally starts everyone goes Bananas for the old starter.

Last time Nebraska lost 2 in a row to start the season? Probably the year my alma mater Occidental beat em. Stanford will be up against a buzz saw on Sunday.

I was at the match and witnessed first hand the powerful fan support of Nebraska. The crowd was Booming for their huskers !!! It was fantastic !! Every Husker I met was nothing more than gracious and welcoming to the FSU supporters that were there.. I have a new respect for this team and loyal fan support !!
I am still digesting this 3-1 win for FSU ... They had nothing to lose and put it all out there on the court ! Go Noles !

Lost to Pacific & Penn State to start 1999. I believe Wischmeier was starting setter for 1 or both of those.

I totally agree, but sometimes it seems like blaming Mary takes the pressure off the home growns. The home growns can't hit because of placement, Mary doesn't do this, doesn't do that. Hope I am wrong, but a lot of finger pointing to the xfer not the locals.

Mary is a good setter they will be fine. Robinson was so big for this team last year.

Kadie did not perform well according to the stats, and I understand that. But my main point, the only reason Mary was "successful" last year because they had arguably, the best player in the nation on the court and she could terminate with about any set known to man. Mary had awful connection with the middles last year, and that's something to take issue with when you have pretty good middles in haggerty and hall. I was a little too hard on Mary, I'll admit that, but I just want to see the husker succeed and I think hunter can do that
