As am I, Coast. Most recently FitzMorris played in the U20 NORCECA Continental Championship in Guatemala. Another thread mentioned her having injured a hand. Said that's why she didn't see significant playing time. I love Foecke at Middle, also. Man, can she score! So I get the switch to OH. I'll have to wait and see along with all her other fans.

I'm simply giving my opinion. I think she is better in the middle. You obviously don't. I'm willing to bet I've seen her play almost as much as anyone so I feel comfortable with MY opinion and will leave it as that. I'm not trying to sway anyone or argue That's fine, I'm not saying she isn't a great middle or that your opinion isn't valid, I was simply stating that it's hard to project her in the middle in college because it limits her swings. A player of her offensive talent should be getting ample attempts every match.

Her size does allow her to play some above average defense at times, but sometimes serve receive can be an issue from what I've seen. I think she may end up on the right. It'll depend on Nebraska's need. If she can play good enough defense on the opposing L1, then it makes sense since it allows Amber Rolfzen to move back to the left.

And I'm hoping Kira Larson will develop into a top player at M or probably RS by then, and be added to the mix. But who can tell at this point. NE needs a dominating presence in the middle.

I've always wondered if playing together on the junior national team factors into decisions. With Foecke and Haggerty committed one would think that might help NE with Fitzmorris, but for some reason it feels like Stanford the whole way. I have no facts, just seems like the type of kid Stanford gets. It plays into it, but kids still make the decision for themselves. It's rare you'll see friend/teammate influence be the deciding factor. It's not like Foecke, Haggerty, and Maloney all decided to play together, they all have their own reasons for committing to Nebraska. Building a relationship through the national team is just a bonus.

Very good point about Foecke; She is a hitting machine. Just what they need at OH. But Cook can't wait forever for FitzMorris. And once players wait into their Junior year when heavily recruited, and Stanford is in the mix, aren't they just waiting for Stanford admissions at this point? Probably, or at least that has been the pattern.

I posted a long time ago Fitzmorris was going to wait until hearing from Stanford admissions. That is still the story I am getting through the grapevine. However, it doesn't mean she will choose Stanford. There are some good possibilities in the Midwest for her. Who knows? We will have to wait. I do expect if she makes no announcement by early club season, some coaches will start to think Stanford is her end game.

I, too, think she's better in the middle. That's not to say she isn't sensational hitting on the pins, because she is. But she is beastly in the middle, the kind of player few even in the college ranks currently have.

Right on cue. Didn't Prepvolleyball.com start its countdown for the 2015 senior aces today? Another year for 2016 senior aces.

This is more than a two-horse race. By waiting, Fitzmorris gains more knowledge of each program she is considering. This is why I scratch my head when elite recruits bite before their sophomore year. So much can change and still be better understood.

Fitz is awesome, but give me Stivrins in the middle. Both are outstanding, but Lauren is SO steady and solid. She rarely makes mistakes and can block and bang with the best of them.

Fitzmorris was also heavily considering Kansas I thought.. but, I'm sure the stall regards Stanford Admissions!
what about these kids?
Kathryn Plummer,
Brie Orr
Jenna Grey (I'm surprised NEB not going after Jenna)
