Creighton is far from the cupcake they once were on the Husker schedule. They have I believe 10 Nebraskans on their roster so they'll definitely be motivated to play well.
Speaking of cupcakes.... Nebraska has feasted on a few in the last couple weeks. Will their recent success continue against a better than average squad? A strong showing Wed will go a long ways toward giving the Huskers the confidence they'll certainly need to be successful on Sat against Texas. In my mind, a big thing to watch is if Kelsey Fien can maintain her strong play against a much better defensive team. IMO, that's a pretty important factor for Nebraska to have a successful season going forward.
Other thoughts?

I was never a big Fien fan but I may have to eat those words! I still think Texas will win in 4!

While Robo definitely helped UNL last year; it hindered the development of the young girls on the team for this year! They will have to work hard to get where they need to be! So far I am happy with Kelsey's game! I also like how;Melanie is doing so far! Hopefully, the girls will get better and better as the season progresses! Amber seems to be stepping up! GO HUSKERS

I think the Bob will be rocking Wed night--lots of local girls playing, local fans--lots of Nebr fans turn BlueJays when the two face each other. Going to be fun!

The few Husker fans that switch their allegiance for Wednesdays match will be friends/family of Creighton players. It certainly won't be "lots."

Sounds like it'll be a good match. I really do enjoy these local rivalries in the pre-conference.

Sounds like it'll be a good match. I really do enjoy these local rivalries in the pre-conference. It'll grow in rivalry status as CU continues to grow as a program, a trend I definitely see continuing. They have a very nice class coming in next year. I think hey have a good coaching staff in place and good administrative support. I'd love to see them do well.

I respectfully disagree--did you watch the Nebr-Creighton men's bb game last year? So maybe not "lots", but many switch alliance to cheer for the underdog. They, their kids, attend Creighton. The Creighton coach was a standout player at Lincoln East, many ex-Spartans cheer for her.. Regardless, will be a fun time. And I agree Creighton is getting better. It will certainly be a better match than last weekend.

Uh.... when Nebr and CU play men's BB, CU is rarely, if ever, the underdog. And that has no bearing on the VB fans anyway. But yes... It's going to be a fun atmosphere for sure. I'm excited to see CU and am going to their home matches this weekend as well. My wife, in fact works for CU.

But Creighton being a "rival" to Nebraska -> NO.

IN regards to men's basketball, that tide is about to shift. In past Huskers games that were not volleyball Creighton fans would swallow up tickets that were being sold or unused, they weren't Husker fans who pulled out their Bluejay gear. I hope this can become a rivalry. I love Kirsten BB and what she has done with CU and I bleed Husker red. Hopefully it'll be a great match! In my mind, in order for a rivalry to REALLY occur, both sides need to obtain victories.

Exciting to be in Nebraska tonight!!!!! Our regular season starts tonight and Nebraska has never lost playing against Creighton. It will be a fun match to watch if Creighton can keep up. This Creighton program has gone from nothing to making NCAA championship bracket for the last 2 years, I credit the Coach mostly but Amanda Gates IMO is infectious. So kudos to Creighton for what their doing. GBR
