10. Southern California is maybe ranked at #20. Way over-rated right now........................but the great Mick Haley will figure this out. This man hates to lose and will get Southern Cal on track come Dec and the NCAA's. Everybody hates to lose. I think it's more important that that have some really excellent volleyball players on their team, which is why I expect them to be very competitive for the PAC-12 title regardless of their recent bobble. No ........................you dont understand..........................Mick hates to lose MORE THAN ANY GREAT COACH I EVER SEEN. JOVAN who runs the water polo scene is a close second. These men hate to lose but know how to correct to situations. Its called coaching. Its called communition wilt the ball club. Its called not being a tyrant or bully to your charges.

If wishes were ponies then every little girl in America would have one. That's what's known as "magical thinking." If I want it badly enough, it will come true! What's important here is not Mick's motivation, it is the fact that he has some real talent to work with.

First time in 22 years that the Wahine have been left out of the AVCA Top 25 Poll. It doesn't matter how you start but how you finish. We all have yet to see the best from a complete Wahine team playing together. I like the potential of this team moving forward. they fall out of the poll. it's disappointing, for sure. but this will be a different team by the end of the regular season. could be a dangerous unseeded team.

Magical thinking.............that whats you bring to this board sometimes.............but I know you are the Einstein of volleytalk since Beachnan dont show up here any more and AZVB is worried about the weather.

Where are you all seeing how specific coaches voted?? Go to the AVCA poll page and look for a link there. www.avca.org/polls/di-women/The link to look for is called "voter ballots". It leads to an excel spreadsheet.

I'm not sure every little girl in America would wish for a pony. True. Some of them would want a full-sized horse.

At one point during the Texas A&M v USC match, Haley and Aggies Associate Head Coach John Corbelli got into a verbal spat with each other while approaching the down ref after a lengthy rally between the two teams. For a second there, I honestly thought we were having a Cook/McLaughlin moment. The look in Haley's eyes after he sat down while still looking at Corbelli was... fantastic! He was fighting for that point USC had won and it appeared he was not going to let that point be taken away. I know some are not big fans of Mick Haley. But I love his competitiveness, among other qualities that I respect. He believes in his girls and has high hopes for them. Side-note: Texas A&M is a great team and I hope they continue to rise in rankings throughout the season. Talented setter. And Opposite Ashlie Reasor is very skilled as a freshman. Maybe this is why Mick is one of very few voters not to have Texas A&M in the top 25

UTSA has 2 wins and 6 losses, one of those victories is against the Aggies. That loss is reason enough to keep the Aggies out of the top 25.

It has some bearing but not as much as you may think. That loss to UTSA is more impactful than any victory the Aggies had this weekend. Did I mention that UTSA has only 2 wins this season with one of those wins coming against the Aggies? As for Hawai'i, the streak of being a ranked team for 22 straight seasons is gone but it is what it is. The Wahine are only going to get better now that Taylor is back in the lineup... With a healthy Taylor, I doubt the Wahine would have 3 losses on their resume.
