... I'd prefer to take my chances that somebody else will knock off PSU. I don't know if this sounds arrogant or pessimistic ... IMHO the team that would knock PSU off this year is likely going to be -- PSU!

They will send PSU to Washsington to take care of business.....i kid My nightmare scenario. They'll probably throw UCLA in that region also to further frighten me. My current meaningless seeding predictions, as posted on DigNittany: Ames Regional: 1. Stanford, 2. Oregon, 3. Nebraska, 4. Kentucky Louisville Regional: 1. Texas, 2. Wisconsin, 3. North Carolina, 4. Arizona Minneapolis Regional: 1. Florida State, 2. Florida, 3. Illinois, 4. Southern Cal Seattle Regional: 1. Washington, 2. Penn State, 3. UCLA, 4. Colorado State Colorado State has to beat BYU, while Kentucky has to beat Purdue.www.dignittanyvolleyball.com/lionsfan-looks-at-week-9/So by this I'm assuming you have 1-Stanford 2-Texas 4-Florida State 4-Washington 5-Penn State 6-Florida 7-Wisconsin 8-Oregon Yeah, I don't see that happening.

I'd happily welcome the lions to Hec Ed....Vansant needs her revenge. Franky, If UW can't beat PSU, especially at home, they don't deserve to win the title anyway. This whole not wanting to see such and such team is garbage. There can only be one winner. If PSU doesn't earn a top seed, that means one of the top seeds has to beat them to get to the final four. If they can't do that, they didn't deserve a top seed to begin with. I don't care about where PSU lands, I care that we get a solid bracket that doesn't clump conference teams together, and spreads the teams around.

I don't mind playing PSU at Hec Ed (still remember seeing UW beat them 3-1 there in 2006). One of the advantages for PSU in the past, however, was often having easier paths to the Final Four, at which they arrived fresh, instead of beat up after a grueling regional. But, yeah, if they send them here, bring it on!

Washington really made PSU's path easier last year...giving them a breather so they'd be fresh for Wisconsin.

It probably would sound a little arrogant and dismissive to Stanford, Nebraska and Illinois. Agreed. PSU is a very good team that has the potential to be a great team if they are able to continue to improve over the season. Still, they are what their record says they are, and that's currently a three loss team. Maybe one loss could be written off as a fluke or a bad game or whatever, but three losses is pretty solid evidence that they are team that can be beat.

I don't think any of the top teams are afraid of Penn State they are young this season and it has shown. They are not unbeatable they will be a tough out but come tournament time every time is playing like its the last match of the season. I like any of the top teams chances against PSU with the exception of FSU, I wish they would face PSU cause then it could validate whether they are good enough.

... but three losses is pretty solid evidence that they are team that can be beat. Hence I am 85% pessimistic and 15% arrogant . Make that 99-1 if it still sounds too arrogant , but I am not going down without at least a tiny bit of a fight . I am hoping that Washington (HW) could make a difference against Washington (UW) if PSU can get to Seattle (if it gets sent to that region) .

Everyone should be picking FSU they have played a tough schedule but not tough enough they have played a lot of 5 setters as has Washington but Washington has Vansant and is hosting. I have watched a lot of volleyball and for stretches they have convinced me of their ranking by playing clean quality volleyball but at times they just look mediocre against second tier competition. I think they can play to the level of their competition, but lack of experience is also a big reason why they shouldn't be favored to perform well come tournament time. They may advance far though as a lot of teams may overlook their talent and assume that they will be an easy out.

I don't really get the enormous fascination PSU fans have with this girl. I mean, I do get that she's quite good. Looking at her offensive numbers they are elite, and she's only a freshman (who didn't even get to play in the early matches of the year). Her blocking numbers seem to be average at best, but no matter. The thing is, PSU knows as well as anybody, having beaten Stanford with Foluke, that it's really hard to expect a great middle to carry a team. But hey, I dismissed the possibility that Hancock's serve would be anything Washington couldn't handle after beating Bricio's team three times, and that was completely wrong. (For whatever reason, Bricio has just never been able to have an excellent serving night against the Huskies.)

I don't really get the enormous fascination PSU fans have with this girl... I am not at all fascinated like you think I am. I do however feel that if she matures in time for NCAA the team should probably be a better team than the early part of the season when she couldn't play (much) due to injury.

So they will be better than early in the year, when they took Stanford to 5 in Maples; more like they were last week, when they lost to Illinois in 4 at Rec Hall. Um .... OK, I guess.
