Who would you put on an all-star Southern California team by position? It's tough to chose when you have all these guys. Who ever you put on the court it would be an all star team. Here's my opinion: Team 1 MB: Keenan Sanders, Will Hunter OH: James Thomas, Roy Mcfarland L: Colin Mcalister OPP: Noah Dyer S: Casey Mcgarry Team 2 MB: Tyler Alter, Jack Truman OH: Sean Morrisey, Eric Beatty L: Sam Jones OPP: Lucas Lassone, S: Davis Boehle Team 3 MB: Patrick Sohacki, Mel Schroednar OH: Adam Lee, Sam Kobrine L: Michael Chang OPP: Quentin Haarpaintner S: Connor Walbrecht Once again this is just my opinion

Where are all the lighting kids playing this year? Won't know for another 2 weeks or so; tryouts in WI don't start till next weekend (22nd) after HS season finishes this weekend. I believe most are probably going to Milwaukee Sting.

I think now as a 17s team, u need a 5-1 with an oppo who can hit a D ball and can play defense

One of the club coaches tried to run a 6-2 once at 17's and ran out of substitutions with his weaker right side and setter on the court. Cost them them a first place in the Silver division.

Listing the kids names is all on opinion and really early to tell before they develop and are evaluated by colleges. How teams are doing will give the players more opportunity to develop. Top teams finishing last tournament are Balboa, Scvc, Coast, San Gabriel, 949, and HBC those will be the contenders I believe and maybe bones 17s and MB surf 17s.

If this is accurate, Balboa is going to be a beast of a team if 4 of their guys would be on the first team all Southern California.

With that amount of talent, Loyola is going be tough this year and next year. Anyone think they have a chance to upset Huntington Beach this year? Would leave upsetting Huntington Beach to Newbury Park or San Clemente

Nah, no one is upsetting Huntington. I'd be shocked by anything but another undefeated season. I think Loyola will be even better this year, Mira Costa will be back after a down year, and Newbury should be a contender, so long as they stay healthy (not much depth compared to the other top teams), but Huntington is going to be even better than they were last year when they didn't come close to losing a best of five match. Tournament play is always iffy of course, but considering that last year they didn't drop more than a set in any one match, and swept every single tournament match they played...Everyone else is fighting an uphill battle.

I don't think Loyola will be better this season, but don't forget about CDM... I think along with Newbury Park those two have the best chance at taking a couple sets off of Huntington.
