Maybe we need a coaching intervention by Scates? I love my Bruins win or lose but Sealy is killing me!

WSU/USC match is also kind of interesting. Not as interesting as OSU/Stanford

A dedicated fan needs to show up at one of the home matches with a picket sign, "We need a new coach."

I wasn't expecting that. UTTER DESTRUCTION. UW with four hitters over .500, with only one hitting error between them.
UW .455 8SA 14.5BL; UCLA .012 2SA 2BL
Vansant 9k .562 4bl Sybeldon 8k .636 7bl Nelson 7k .700 5bl Wade 4k .667 5bl Strickland 3sa
Lowe 11k .000 Buechler 7k .045 Lawless 3k .000

If only the Huskies could just bottle that and reopen it in December.... right

This is where the Coaches need to look at actual PERFORMANCE. No way in looking at Stanford right now and looking at UW should anyone put Stanford ahead of UW. Stanford may be better, but on a week to week basis, UW has looked better sometimes. to go 3-0 against USC and UCLA in LA? Washington should be getting some more 1st place votes.

Karsta Lowe is a great player. GREAT.
But this is the second match I've seen where she had a really off night.
Vansant has slow starts, the sporadic bad set...but never does she have a really bad match.
That's the difference between the two.

You're showing me Vansant with 2 errors, hitting .179 vs. Lowe with 11 errors, hitting .000 ! Please Mommy may I have more?

Was it better or worse than December 19? Especially when you consider context (i.e., who else is on each team). Vansant's a good player, we get it. But being a Vansant fan doesn't mean you have to be a Lowe-basher.

I believe this was the first time that UW beat both L.A. schools in L.A. two years running.
Strickland for Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week? (I count serving as "defense".)

But being a Vansant fan doesn't mean you have to be a Lowe-basher. You should re-read what I've said. I pointed out in two different posts that, IMO, Lowe was not a factor in tonight's match. But I also said Lowe is a great player. Then I repeated the word GREAT using all caps. If you somehow think that makes me a Lowe-basher, that's on you.

But being a Vansant fan doesn't mean you have to be a Lowe-basher. Saying that Lowe has had a couple bad nights, is hardly bashing her. Love Lowe, but in the last six sets they've played, UW has owned her. That's really a credit to UW's serving, which kept UCLA out of system, setting up the block. Vansant's a little better than just "good" - she's really only had two bad matches in the last two years, both last year, at Colorado and vs Penn State. UW distributing their offense makes her even harder to stop.

(I count serving as "defense".) since when is serving defense? her lack of digs against ucla probably keeps her from DPOW, but i thought her defensive performance against USC was excellent
