I can't find any results on the Vegas website....anyone have a link that is working ? I only know the Oshkosh results but Oshkosh I beat Benedictine University-Mesa, UCLA (Semi) and Air Force (Final) all in 3 sets on Saturday. Oshkosh II lost to Illinois. I think it was in the second round of Silver.

Oshkosh has some physical advantages, mainly their 6'6 athletic setter (skys, feet like a point guard, great defense) and MB1 (gets a kill at will if all 3 blockers aren't bunched), but they are not unbeatable. At this level, I don't see absolute physical advantage winning it all -- there exists a shortage of ball control/transition ball play, even at the top level. I wasn't convinced with SLO and they lost to a crafty LBSU setter/squad. UCLA looks like a surprise 'little engine that could' type (fabulous undersized setter, great team chemistry) -- they took game 1 31-29 or so on Oshkosh in semis, lost in 3. I watched UCLA's pool and they almost lost the opening match to the Cal squad -- they got hammered in game 1, were down 21-24 game 2 but somehow won and took game 3 to make it out with their seed.
I would say at least 6-7 teams in the Gold bracket at LVO have a chance to win it all. I would not count UC Davis, Sac State or UCSD as legitimate contenders (none physical enough). Santa Clara has better than average length save for setter (good punahou kid), but they are susceptible on SR/defense. Air Force is definitely a top 5 squad (again, good punahous kid setting) if they use cyborg #17 correctly and he gets hot they have to be considered one of the favorites to go all the way. It will be interesting to see who gets favorable matchups/who gets hot at Nationals.

No surprises in most of the bracket except maybe Maryland, who was more of a middle of the pack EIVA team. Predicting a Vtech Oshkosh final! Should be fun to watch.

Kind of think it's unfair that Oshkosh literally recruits juniors kids to play in collegiate club... Coach "lumpy" does it in a classy way though. No pressure on kids he just lets them know that they would be welcome at Oshkosh. A lot of their recruiting is done through the Oshkosh summer camp which tons of Wisconsin kids go to.

Kind of think it's unfair that Oshkosh literally recruits juniors kids to play in collegiate club... In what sense? Since this is "club" volleyball, I don't believe the kids are ever under any binding commitment to go there. If D1, D2 or D3 schools would show an interest, I don't think there would be anything stopping these kids from going there. Agree with hardworkwins, all they are doing is presenting an option for those that want to continue playing the game, in a competitive setting, beyond high school. Oshkosh has three teams, virtually all of the kids are from Wisconsin. This makes the financial side of attending a whole lot more reasonable than any of the schools with NCAA programs.
