Notre Dame swept Louisville tonight -15, -20, -14. ND is now 10-3. By far McLaughlin's biggest win at ND.

Notre Dame just embarrassed Miami and Louisville wow I flipped on the Miami match and was surprised to not see Haley Templeton setting. She's been out since week 1. What happened to her? Will she be back this season?

Will she be back this season? She had surgery over the summer for her plantar fasciitis in both feet. Apparently she re-injured it during practice week 2. Not sure if she will back this season or not.

Notre Dame just embarrassed Miami and Louisville wow Taking nothing away from the vastly improved Irish and the job the players, Jim and staff have done, but most fair minded folks would agree that Louisville and Miami are mere shadows of where they were last year and before. Let's see how ND fares with UNC and Florida State before we warn the villagers.

I had also been wondering what happened to her, and saw that the team has been struggling this season without her.

Let's see how ND fares with UNC and Florida State before we warn the villagers. Right. But look at the set scores in those sweeps. -15, -20, -14, -15, -15, -22 ... It's not just that they beat them, they demolished both of them. It's a huge step in the right direction. And yes, I've seen both Louisville and Miami. Both are missing outstanding setters. One to graduation, one to injury. I think Notre Dame can beat UNC. The Irish have MO on their side and UNC just with five with Boston College & NC State.

I said before the rise to the mid-level of the ACC would not be difficult. Anyone who thought a coach of his caliber would stay in the conference basement wasn't paying attention - let's face it, there are a lot of bad, bad teams in the conference. If they do eke out a 5th place finish this year, that would be an overachievement thought.
It will be challenging for him to match the top - UNC is still miles better (FSU is up and down this year though but should remain strong) but at least he has the "momentum" narrative to sell to recruits & transfers this offseason. It won't be more long before a Big Ten seed gets a nasty surprise in their subregional

I"m a UNC fan, but Notre Dame gave UNC a tough match at UNC last year, so "can" is a given. fwiw, I don't think there's a safe matchup in the conference. For whatever reasons, some of the ACC teams who don't do well out of conference can be quite different in conference. I'm not shocked at all that Notre Dame is greatly improved, but I'm not expecting them to go undefeated in conference just because they have a proven coach.

ND setting seems to be an upgrade this season. It is. Caroline Holt, transfer from Loyola of Chicago is a fantastic setter/leader, who also plays great defense.
