Ece Taner - Turkish National Team Definitely Yes, if she decides to play professionally. BTW Turkish National Team is one of the top 10 teams in the world.

Hamson is too slow and and a liability in defense for international play. Also at that level blocks are much higher which will mitigate her slow pace and very predictable hitting. She might play but will never be a star or an all around player.

I still think Lowe >>> Hamson. Hamson is just not as agile, quick, or coordinated as most Sweet 16 opposites this year. Hamson's body coordination reminds me of Lutz at Stanford--- that same lack of quickness, but Lutz' arm swing has gotten faster, and Hamson's still seems like she's clubbing the ball more than hitting it. Hamson's is a LOW velocity hit that top international players aren't going to have a problem digging. I must be watching a different 6'7" player from BYU. Hamson is remarkably athletic for a player of her size and build. She has nothing in common with Lutz. And I've seen her knock diggers on their asses with velocity/angles.

I agree, and it seems from the way Karch talked her up, he seemd pretty impressed by her athleticism, her ability to go to the floor and get digs. Hamson definitely has a legit shot, as does Lowe. I don't think either has a significant edge over the other.

Don't know Hamson, but the life of a pro athlete overseas seems extremely lonely. I'm assuming, like most Mormon women, she wants to get married and have kids, and sooner rather than later. I think the National Team is a better fit for her, but like I said, I don't know her.
Can someone objectively compare her and Lowe to Hochaver (sp?).

The one thing that Murphy as over Lowe is the fact that she has been a setter at a high level and can set great balls when the setter cannot get to them much like Courtney Thomas but still put the ball down like any other great hitter. Are you kro's sock?

Lowe is not replacing Murphy on the National Team, especially if Karch is still the coach. I wouldn't put it (or anything really) past Karch of course, but I'll be laughing my ass off if he lets Murphy keep the starting spot over Hooker and Lowe.

Lowe is not replacing Murphy on the National Team, especially if Karch is still the coach. I think Lowe will do well internationally, but I'm not expecting her to become the star that all you guys think she'll be. People were saying the same thing about Nnamani, Kim Glass, Fawcette and Hodge. Murphy is successful because she is one of the most fundamentally sound attackers in the world and her style of play fits perfectly in Karch's system. If any of these current seniors has a chance of beating her out, it's Hamson. I think last quad would've said that no one is replacing Hooker...... Who knows. Lowe definitely showed potential.... That's a completely different issue. Murphy didn't replace Hooker because she was better than her; she replaced her because Hooker got kicked off the team.

Other than the fact that they are both tall and blonde, they have nothing in common as players.

Considering Hooker got left off this most recent National team, it's not hard to imagine she could easily be left off the Olympic team. The USA has an incredible talent base of women's players and I think Karch likes that everyone needs to continuously fight for their position. So not only are they going to have to be supremely talented, they are also going to have to be fully entrenched in the team first mentality. So if, as some have implied, that the reason Hooker was left off was because of attitude, then the thing that needs to change is that if she wants a shot at the Olympics.

You must have control freak issues too defending Karch like this.
Sports are really good at exposing people's mental illnesses.

Are you thinking of Hooker?
