azvb, now might be a good time to start drinking. Nah. It's just a game.

I am curious about how Weiskercher with her technical ability is going to provide a better setting plan than Micha did? What specific skirls do you feel that Micha lacked? Or perhaps you can suggest what skills Briana has that Micha lacked? I am not trying to be a wise guy just want to better understand how the change in setters maybe improved at PSU for 2015. Thanks

I was hoping for a better match. Penn State seemed to play some of their best matches in the Final Four. Not surprised that Rose was able to get his team to peak at the right time.
BYU looked a bit overwhelmed. Gray had such a slow start. Alohi-Robins looked off to me. I thought she looked much better in the previous two matches. Her footwork seemed slow (which could be from nerves). Even tho Hamson finished with a lot of errors, I thought she was the only player from the Cougar side that really showed up to play. She was getting so many garbage sets.
Congrats to the Penn State. They proved they were the best team in a year with a lot of parity. Not sure if they'll be as good next year losing their 3-time 1st team setter. Next season, it will be Stanford's to lose.
Congrats also to BYU. From seeing them last season, I thought they were going to make a really deep run in this tourney. Didn't realize they'd make it all the way to the final. They'll miss Hamson, but I think they'll be quite a force next season as well.

I think, not certain, that you can only redshirt 2 years if it's due to medical reason. So she might be injured....hope she gets to play one day but I think Penn State has better options. This was my post/question in the other thread.
I thought that was her sister who left Nebraska and went to UCLA. Is this not the younger Dykstra who committed to UCLA and then backed out and went to PSU?
I could be in over my head on this one after so many consolation beers!
Lara, her older sister, went to Nebraska and was their starting libero for 2 years (although she was also an OH in HS). Then she transferred to Pepperdine to play beach. Skylar is younger than Lara; they played together in HS. She went to UCLA (redshirted) then transferred to Penn State (redshirted).

From what a read on dykstra family, they are more into beach volleyball. Sure they have played outdoor but sounds if they did it after college most family prefer beach. That just what I got from stuff I read. If that's case wonder why skylar left ucla. She isn't gonna get beach volleyball at psu.

So, I'm wondering if PSU brings the whole team when they go to the tournament? Are they just in the stands and not on the bench? I don't think I've seen this asked/answered before and if so, I apologize for asking.

Not sure if they are allowed to be with their teammates on the bench or not.

Congratulations to the Lions on yet one more, for a total of seven NCAAs. No other Div.I team can boast such an accomplishment. I don’t care what anyone could ever say about RR. Be it, they’d say, a Schmuck , Putz, an oaf or doof he’s done it all himself. UCLA with its seven NCs (Andy B’s six/Sealy’s one), they did it with more than one coach.
—Rose stands alone as the head of all pride (or is it plural=Prides?). Stanford and USC follow closely behind with their six NCs but, again, with more than one coach in successions. Interestingly Long Beach State has won a majority of their six with BG, too, yet his three NC2As and one Sand NC are in the past; with Dixie Grimmett’s mere two, the SoCal/L.A. trifecta’s complete.
Rose is in very prominent company.
Al Scates: 19 MVB NCs @ UCLA
Nina Matthies: 2 SVB NCs @ Pepperdine
--- Div.II /(w/NAIA)
St. Paul’s Brady Starkey: 7 CONSECUTIVE WVB NCs, 2007-13
UH Hilo’s Sharon Peterson: 7 WVB NCs; 1979, 1981, Four CONSECUTIVE ‘til 1984-85, 1988
BYUH’s Wilfred Navalta: 10 WVB NCs; 86-7, 91-2, 94-97, 2000, 02
Div.III
Teri Clemens has 7 WVB NCs & Rich Luenemann has 3 WVB NCs all at Washington-St Louis
NJCAA-2 yr.
College of Southern Idaho: 10 WVB NCs (six from 93-98) & Heidi Cartisser (w/ her two)’s the caboose in this list of notables
Mira Costa High School (Manhattan Beach, CA)

I'm not sure what it is you're counting. I thought UCLA had four championships.
Merry Christmas in any event.

UCLA has 3 AIAW championships. They governed women's collegiate athletics separately from the NCAA before eventually merging. So UCLA has seven national championships total and 4 NCAA Championships (this is specifically how they are referred to in broadcasts)

Well then, Stanford, a school known for incredible academics, intellectual practice & research, and a constant, massive endowment - needs to adapt - intellectually speaking. How ironic your post, or perhaps lacking in thought. Stanford will be fine ... they are still the best Pac-12 team most years. They just won't win NCAA titles ... not the end of the world. They'll still win the Directors Cup (or whatever they call it). this post did not age well
