Well the proven best over the past 8 years would be Kaleena and Dennis. Both have moved on but pretty sure all the recent 6 National Championships of PSU were recruited and committed while one or both of them were there. Ultimately it is the big guy in the corner room that makes the decision and call but it is pretty clear they were two of the best helping in PSU's run. [br Thought I heard those 4peat teams was while Rockwell was there. She recruited a lot of those players Yes, and you already mentioned her.

Oh "while kaleena was there" but not necessary her being biggest influence though. Ok. I guess my point was it was my understanding that Russ and Rockwell did most the recruiting for a lot of those players on that 4 year run

Best college recruiters? Some recruiters seem to ALWAYS land big time kids and help build programs. Please feel free to add to the list and in a few days we can have a poll to see if we (as a community) can sort out the top 10 "current" best recruiters. Here a few to start with: Jill Wilson - LSU Greg Whitis - Arizona Eve Rackham - UNC Each of these coaches recruit top kids year after year and are not at TOP schools like Stanford, Wash, PSU, Texas Between Mick Haley and Jerritt Elliott

Basically it's just another question of who your favorite coach is. None of these people know what goes on in recruiting conversations with recruits. I am actually a D1 coach in a power 5 conference...I do have a clue and some of the people I posted I'm not a fan of but, if they can recruit then they should be on the list. It's not about popularity or favorite coach. It's all about if they are good or not. Sorry, I should have said most.

What's the criteria for this? How can you tell if a coach is a good recruiter or if the head coach is the one doing the job? That's a good point because I have heard that at Stanford that many players were most impressed with assistant coach, Denise Corlett.

Sagula could have anyone in that position and girls would want to go to UNC. Cool colors and a great school with a very good head coach. Girls want to go there before they ever even know who Eve is.

Then why didn't they have this level of recruit go there for the 20 years before she was the first assistant? Talent has improved since she took that job.

If Eve left for some reason, Sagula would still get the talent.

While I do agree that UNC is a great school and recruits itself to an extent and Joe is an amazing coach and recruiter...UNC didn't get to this level until Eve's recruiting was on board. Travis Filer was also huge in recruiting prior to Eve.

Erin Virtue Denise Corlett Jerritt Elliot Hugh McCutcheon Russ Rose JiMac Mick Haley Mike Sealy What's Hugh's track record in recruiting? Huge may have some Olympic bling BUT I think he is getting a wake up call when it comes to dealing with 18-22 yr old young ladies!! He is a proven trainer and leader....he is NOT a proven recruiter. The current state of Minn volleyball doesn't look good. That proves one simple fact...that talent wins! Regardless of how good your training skills are. Anyone ever hear Russ Ross train arm swing? He basically tells his kids to keep their elbow high...maybe a few other little things. The reason he doesn't have to train as hard is cause the dude is a closer!!! Huge is not a proven closer yet...time will tell.

Have you seen their colors?? So if she ever does leave and Sagula starts losing great recruits then I will admit I was wrong. I will be more than happy to hear "told you so".
