I hope Rubio and his gang can do wonders with this group of athletes. I mean he has the talent in each athlete. I am not doubting his coaching ability.

I watched them play and I have to say I was not impressed. Esp with Harris who will be a Junior and has a huge frame. She is very inconsistent. Penina cannot seem to connect with her hitters, too. And, Kalei Mau cannot terminate. She is a great defneder though. Also, Arizona needs a huge middle upgrade. Jade Turner is weak and Halli Amaro wasn't connecting with Snuka and she was probably hitting negatives. Overall, poor performance. I really hope the freshmen class can put this team in line and the transfers. Arizona has massive holes to fill in Kingdon and Arizobol. It won't be easy.

volleyballfann...thanks for your effort at providing a useable spring season update for a U of A vb fan. i've got two suggestions before your next try at analysis... take your meds and spend more time in the gym! i read your previous 6 posts, after your response to my question, and pal you're all over the place. At first i thought you might be a CATS VB fan too but your analysis of Harris, Snuka, and Amaro leads me to believe you're a newbie to Arizona Volleyball, or you're having an identity crisis or you're a wanna be 12 & under beginning club coach... tell us which is it? btw, it might help to understand this is "spring" practice and the girls aren't supposed to be in mid season form. put it in the bank, Coach Rubio will have this group ready when August rolls around and the play of these ladies may just turn your depressed negative assessment of them into a state where you can experience euphoria with each of their wins. let me finish by welcoming you to the Wildcat VB thread with some advice... provide faulty analysis of Cat players without stats/data/documentation expect to get slapped for being ignorant. i look forward to more of your posts!

I love it!!!! Nothing like a little "Cat" fight to spice up the off-season.

Arizobol. Seriously, she couldn't have dared play anywhere else. Love that name.

I won't even try to improve on the great response by logcabincoach to the recent "comments" by volleyballfann, regarding the "non-tourney" hosted by Arizona VB this past weekend. I do, however, have some additional comments I'd like to make to volleyballfan (of which I doubt that you really are). I'd like to first suggest you check the date. You obviously have a skewed calendar. The one day, annual informal round robin was played in March, official NCAA sanctioned practices start in early August, new frosh arrive then also, 1st non-conference matches begin "around" (no 2015 schedule public yet) end of Aug/1st of Sept, AND conference matches don't start until LATE Sept. You said you were not impressed with Arizona. What, exactly, do you expect to see 6 months before Conference season begins? HOWEVER...my main bone to pick is the way you felt it necessary to disparage, BY NAME no less, most of the young ladies that will be giving their all come season start, for the TRUE Arizona fans. Personally, I think your approach at supposed reporting is absolutely reprehensible. IF you are a real Arizona VB fan, please go back and read other poster comments over previous 2 pages. No one but you has taken shots at individual players. Unacceptable...

Saying a player is nconsistent or that one can not terminate, or saying a player is weak physically , is not that harsh at all to me. I think you two are a little over sensitive!!

On that note, Arizona as a whole needs serious improvements from what i saw.. And also I do not take back what I've said. Its criticism, take it as you want to! Besides, if its only spring ball... don't get so bothered.. Oh, I have been following Arizona and volleyball in general for a very long time. SO, I think I know what I am talking about. but, thanks for your advices.... or what were supposed to be advices... One more thing, I do not target players as they have all rightfully earned their spot on a Div 1 volleyball team IN THE PAC 12! I respect them all. Again, room for improvement, that can be done by the coaches or just training. Thanks again.

Does anybody know the dates and locations of any other spring tournaments that they will be participating in? I saw them last spring at San Diego St and they had a player from the basketball team playing outside because many indoor players were playing on the sand team. They were beat up by UCI and very disjointed in other matches that they won, but went on to finish 3rd in conference and 16th in the final coaches poll. Spring tournaments don't mean anything, but it is fun to see what they are working on for the coming season.
