It's my understanding that 3 weekends in a row, starting (I think) 4/10-4/11, will take the Cats to San Diego for 1st two weekends, and LA for the 3rd weekend. They don't publicize these, and no pertinent records kept, and (again, I think) all 3 weekends will involve a single school rather than several. Putting this out there just on info I have recently received. I could be all wet...

Congrats to Larson on her selection to the WU team. Nice way to get more playing time with other good players this summer.

Wildcats got a nice commitment for 2017 from Paige Whipple, a 6-1 outside from Salem, OR. She played for NPJ 18-1 this year, hits a very heavy ball and should be good for Arizona.

Who are some of their 2016 commitments? I believe Julia Patterson from Los Al High School has committed to Arizona. She is a pretty good setter and she won the 2013 CIFSS title with Crissy Jones.

How many setters does Arizona need? They're bringing in 2 this year, and Snuka will still be there in 2016. I guess with Snuka and Dixon's heights Rubio is thinking a 6-2 going forward, but 4 is still a lot to be on the roster at once.

So what do people think is probably gonna be the starting line up? I think it could possibly be this: OPP: Nikki Attea S: Snuka MB: Amaro and Jacobsen L: Larson OH: Well all I can say for the outside position is.. I am going to miss Madi Kingdon very much. I personally don't think Harris was all that productive and she probably not going to help carry the offensive load that much. I wonder if one of the freshman can step in to a 6 rotation outside hitter role. They need someone to step up.

Possible Starting lineups?!?!
I think they should run a 6-2 with Penina Snuka and Sarah Dixon (ranked #30 on prepvolleyball) as the setters.
If they run a 5-1...
OH1- Ashley Harris (6'8) OH2- Meghan Buzzerio (6'1) Kendra Dahlke (6'0) Tyler Spriggs (6'1) Kalei Mau (6'1) OPP- Nikki Attea (6'3) MB1- Halli Amaro (6'1) MB2- McKenzie Jacobson (6'6) L- Laura Larson/Anna Panagiotakopoulos S- Penina Snuka
6-2 Option
S- Penina Snuka and Sarah Dixon L- Laura Larson or Anna Panagiotakopoulos etc... OH1- Ashley Harris (6'8) OH2- One of the REALLY GOOD FRESHMAN (all of them were in the Top 100 list on Prepvolleyball) RS- Nikki Attea and One of the REALLY GOOD FRESHMAN (all of them were in the Top 100 list on Prepvolleyball) MB1- Halli Amaro (6'1) MB2- Mckenzie Jacobson (6'6)
* Which Freshman do you think will start? Who do you think is the best? ;]

I think having Snuka who has already been playing as the setter in a 5-1 for a couple of years and make her play in the 6-2 system. She is good enough to play in a 5-1 and Attea is also able to play 6 rotations. I have no idea which of the freshman are going to fill the other OH spot. Kingdon set the bar pretty high last year

She also blocks better than you might expect for her height and is a particularly good soft blocker. No way she isn't on the court 6 rotations.

I feel like Arizona is going to run a 6-2 this year because Dave Rubio is recruiting a lot setters. We have 3 setters this season and we are getting another setter next year for the 2016 season. Arizona should run a 6-2 if they want to do well in the PAC 12 this season.

Also, they lost Taylor Arizobal and Madi Kingdon. They need more offense. I think the freshman will do well if they run a 6-2 since Arizona won't be so predictable and they are good freshman.

I agree. The 6-2 will be necessary as they need more hitters available to absorb all those Kingdon/Arizobal swings.
I also think it's important because the pin hitters they need for ball-handling probably won't be those they need for offense - so the 6-2 may be the best option to get everyone they need on court. I don't think it has that much to do with Snuka's height.

Yeah Snuka is good! It's not her height. I'm just saying that the team as a whole would benefit more if they ran a 6-2 system. The passing, hitting, blocking, etc would be so much better.

Not sure the 6-2 will help them fix the passing/hitting issues. With the setter/opp subs in 6-2 using most of their subs, they will be mostly stuck with whatever OH's they start. with a 5-1 they can do front row/back row subs for both OH's or an OH/RS more easily.
