Not sure the 6-2 will help them fix the passing/hitting issues. With the setter/opp subs in 6-2 using most of their subs, they will be mostly stuck with whatever OH's they start. with a 5-1 they can do front row/back row subs for both OH's or an OH/RS more easily. I think because of the need for Buzzerio's ball control she needs to play 6-rotations.... but that would really pressure the offense in a 5-1 (and make for some brutal 2-hitter rotations , esp. without Kingdon bombing from the back). If they put a 6-2 with Buzz and Dahlke on the left passing and Harris and Spriggs/transfer on the right (maybe have Harris/Buzz switch L/R in front row and a part-time DS for Dahlke when she needs a break - thank you 15 subs!), I think that's the lineup that lets them pass well enough to play but also puts the ball on the ground. It's unfortunate to not have Snuka play 6 rotations, but Dixon is solid as well.

I just can't put together a 5-1 lineup that doesn't have a couple of problematic rotations, that I'm not finding with the 6-2.

Yes predictions don't matter. Last year i think they were predicted to finish 9th in the PAC 12 conference but they ended up finishing much higher in the PAC 12. THEY ENDED UP BEING 3rd IN THE PAC 12 CONFERENCE! THATS PRETTY GOOD!

Arizona is going to surprise everyone this year just like how last year BYU shocked the country. Arizona has some talented freshman coming in and the returners are good. They also have two of the TALLEST PLAYERS in the NCAA. Mckenzie Jacobson (MB 6'6) and Ashley Harris (OH 6'8). Arizona has a talented young team... they are going to do very well in the future too!

I think Arizona will be good if there offense is good enough... I don't know if they have enough firepower to make up for Kingdon. Harris is going to have to improve considerably to make up for Madi. At 6'8 she is tall but needs to have more shots and power. A lot of times I watched Arizona she would hit at the libero or right at the defender. If they can get Jacobson some swings and kills then they should have more balance. IMO I see them in the 15-25 range in the first half of the season. If the youth can prove to be good then maybe they move up at the end of the year.

I feel like Arizona is going to run a 6-2 this year because Dave Rubio is recruiting a lot setters. We have 3 setters this season and we are getting another setter next year for the 2016 season. Arizona should run a 6-2 if they want to do well in the PAC 12 this season.

You likely have better info than I, but I'm of the understanding that the majority of new recruits are/will be used to try to fill the Libero position, and not setter. Thinking Snuka will likely be able to handle setting responsibilities more than adequately, thank you, without much help.

The article says she has left the university. Did she transfer to play somewhere else? Or did she just stop playing volleyball?

If she wants to follow in the path of Olivia Magill and transfer to UH, I think Dave would welcome her. She did not use her redshirt year so she can sit out a season and then have 2 to play 2. Both mom and dad played for UH so maybe its a good move for Ashley to try and see if she can spend the last two years of her college career playing in front of 5000+ fans.
I'm sure Jeanne and Rogue knows of Dave Shoji since Dave have been at UH for so long.

As of right now, I think she is taking a year away to take care of some personal issues. Have heard nothing indicating she has transferred, and don't think that's the case as of right now.

Where are you getting this stuff...don't create a "problematic rumor" unless you have something to base it on and back it up. She is taking a leave of absence for personal reasons, shall we say, UNTIL some actual conflicting "fact" comes out indicating differently.

Let's just leave this young lady alone for right now, and move on, OK?
