Pretty fair assessment although, like I said, until carlini proves she can beat psu I don't see them as threat. Nebraska and Illinois on other hand have shown they can give psu problems Not a threat? They won the league...

They won the league... Cause they only had to play psu once. In the end psu eliminated them in tourney otherwise.i didn't say they couldn't win conference. Winning title and winning conference are two different things and I'm not worried about Wisconsin until they show me they can beat psu. Carlini is 0-5 against psu like I said above

Wisconsin also was able to beat Illinois twice and swept Nebraska. Penn State couldn't do that. Not matching up well against Penn State doesn't mean Wisconsin isn't able to win the conference. They've shown that they can. And Carlini isn't 0-5 against Penn State. Wisconsin is.

Wisconsin will likely be down a bit from last year, even though they still have Carlini they lost a ton. Penn State will still be a great team, but probably a bit more beatable without Hancock. I think Illinois and Nebraska will both be improved with the addition of their elite freshmen. I see it being a tight race between PSU, Illinois, and Nebraska with Wisconsin and Ohio State close behind.

Wisconsin definitely won the conference championship. Congratulations to them. Carlini seems to have an interesting situation though. When Wisconsin wins it's supposedly because of the huge difference she makes for Wisconsin. When Wisconsin loses it's the team.

Are you suggesting that she doesn't make a huge difference for Wisconsin, or that she is more responsible for their losses?

Not sure what all of the other B1G teams have for spring practice but Wisconsin has roughly 6 players. They are going to have to get up to speed quick in the fall.

They are going to have to get up to speed quick in the fall. there are about 3 months between spring and fall season, there isnt much carryover in terms of team preparedness. Spring is overrated in that aspect. Nebraska went to China, got way more training and playing in then any team in the country, and got off to a really slow start. Spring is about getting healthy, getting stronger, working with younger players who get back burner-ed in the fall. It has value but not in the way you suggest IMO.

In my opinion, it's Nebraska and psu PSU fighting it out for [the] title. I think Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, and Ohio state just may sneak into that second tier. The rest for me: who knows. [I'm] sorry can't take Wisconsin serious[ly] enough yet to put them in [the] first tier. Until Carlini can show she can beat PSU (which thus far she hasn't done) why put them in on top? On [the] other hand, Nebraska has been able to beat PSU at times, thus why I have them where I do. First, I fixed your post. This is sort of silly at face value. A few teams have been shown to beat PSU at times over the last four years. Nebraska beat PSU, then proceeded to a lower than usual finish. Indiana has beaten them. Badgers have beaten them. Illinois has beaten them. I don't disagree with your assessment of the potential outcomes, per se, but the fact that the Badgers have not beaten PSU while Carlini has been there doesn't mean in isolation that they don't have a shot to do well. What if PSU beats WI twice and then loses 3 matches to other teams, for example? The real question mark with the Badgers is their youth, not just the criteria that they haven't beaten PSU in the last 10 matches.

Not everyone makes that argument. Those of us who have been around a while as Badgers fans, not bandwagon fans, recognize it is the team winning and the team losing. Absolutely, she is a difference maker, and she's made the team better, and brought the best out of the TALENT that was already there. No one will dispute her ability. She's fantastic. However, as I have said a dozen times, she's not taking Savannah State to the national championship. I don't think she's taking about 250 other teams there either.

Wisconsin hadn't beaten Nebraska since what, the 70s, until last fall? Did that matter? What if next season, Wisconsin goes 38-2, wins the National Title (one can dream), avoids playing PSU in the tourney, but loses to Penn State twice during conference? Does that mean they're not the "real champion"?

As others have said, UW could loose to PSU twice in a year and still win the B1G if PSU, or anyone else for that matter, looses twice or more to everyone else. And it's fully possible that UW could beat PSU this year and still stumble elsewhere and loose the B1G. If all that was required to win the B1G was to beat PSU then Nebraska and Illinois would have been much happier last year.
This year is the most unpredictable and interesting that we've seen in years. PSU will be very good, but there is a question mark with Hancock gone. Nebraska could be much better this year, or could get dragged down by whatever was dragging them down this year. Wisconsin has a high ceiling with LC setting all the super baby badgers and with the floor defense still intact (and possibly better), but also could be quite inconsistent at first as it beds in all the new players. Illinois I think could be quite good this year with Poulter setting, even with Mcmahon and Crisswell gone. I think they could be scary with great setting and the floor defense in place. I could see any of those four teams winning it. There is a lot of intrigue in the rest of the conference too. What happens with Minnesota - do they wake up with SSS? What about OSU -- can they carry on their momentum from the end of the year? Can Purdue find itself with an amazing incoming hitter?
This year will be an absolute slugfest I think.
