Finally watched the finals between Rexona and Osasco. Rexona won in 3 close sets. The first set was the best in that both teams played their hearts out. In the 2nd and 3rd sets, I think they were all getting tired and making mistakes. Both teams were blocking really well. Natalie was hitting very well and hard but couldn't pass. Rexona's blockers did a good job shutting down Osasco. With that being said, I think the USA NT will have a good chance beating Brazil in 2015/2016. I think overall we have good players playing at each positions. Yes, this was the end of the season for Brazil and not all their players where on 1 team, but I think Sheila, Fe Garay have not played well for their clubs this season. Gabi is still young and still needs to learn how to hit around the block and I think they still have an issue with their floor defense depending if Jacque comes back and who becomes their next outsides. Many of the USA NT players have played really well this year, Foluke, Larson, Molly K, have won their leagues with Hill and Klineman going into the finals with Novara.

Was the serving that good or was the passing just crappy? Gabi is young but there were some back court plays that she made that were well beyond her years. Also I love the blocking prowess of young Carol for Rexona. Fantastic lateral movement from the small middle. Reminiscent of the shorter middles Brazil utilized in the late 80s and early 90s like Ida and Sandra.

Gabi is fun to watch because she is only going to get better. I really like how Carol plays in the middle better than Juicey and Adenizia. She moves well and has a good serve. These young women that are coming up have good attitudes and appear to cheer each other on instead of showing their frustrations with their teammates.

Fofao's still the best Brazilian setter, too bad she fell out with Ze because she should be starting over Lins on the NT. Natalia and Gabi both played extremely well:

Osasco was a mess in the final. The coach is weak, weak, weak. I truly hope Natália and Gabi can keep up their play, specially the former.
Some transfer news:
Léia - Pinheiros > Minas Letícia Hage - Praia Clube > Pinheiros Macris - Pinheiros > Brasília Mara - S. Caetano > Minas Paula - S. Caetano > Pinheiros Rosamaria - Pinheiros > Minas Sassá - Praia Clube > Brasília (libero) Jaqueline - Minas > SESI Suelle - SESI > Osasco Walewska - Minas > Praia Clube Pri Heldes - Brasília > SESI Carol Leite - S. Caetano > SESI
Adenizia, Camila Brait, Thaisa and Carcases stay at Osasco. Natasha, Tassia, Ju Carrijo, Ju Costa and Ramirez stay at Praia Clube. Gabi and Natália stay at Rio. Bia and Suelen stay at SESI. Edna and Paula stay at Brasília. Mari, Carla, Carol Gattaz and Naiane stay at Minas.
That's all I know until now.

He approached her to set in London, but she humbly declined. In fact, she's actually a big fan of Dani Lins's setting.

You gotta be joking. You're the best setter in the country, despite age, and you turn down the spot to give someone you like an 'opportunity'?

Think she had entered the mind set of what's to come after volleyball. Volleyball was the focus of the big picture, but not the entire picture. Isn't she retiring?

She was called upon to set the team in 2012, but she declined. Both Zé and she respect and admire each other. There's no tension between them.

It's a great quality to have (knowing when to step down and let the younger generation take over. I wish Fernanda Venturini hadn't gone to Athens. That Brazilian team had Gold written all over them. Zé was dealt a political conundrum and did the best he could with it. Fofão would've made that team Golden. That 4th set meltdown against Russia has to give Fernanda nightmares.

Speaking of Zé Roberto, Fernanda and Fofão, three weeks from now, it'll be Fofão's farewell match.
And about Fernanda, she is too proud to admit she has any fault about that 2004 disaster. She wanted back in 2008, but there were rumors back then that Fofão and others threatened to leave the team if Fernanda joined them. But I really don't think she'd be back anyways.

Sorry, there's no way Fofao is still the best Brazilian setter. It was a great moment for her to go out on top, but she was just okay for most of the season. And if she played like she did in the first semi in the Finals, you'd be yelling at her to retire already.
Still a legend, but she's also 45 - Time all things devours; Birds, beasts, trees, flowers.

I only watched the final, she played better than Lins then. Lins was also taken out in the European matches, maybe she needs the best hitters from the NT to perform at her best.
Did Gabi and Natalia play great throughout the season or another exception in the final?

Did Gabi and Natalia play great throughout the season or another exception in the final? They both had a solid, regular season. Gabi led all OHs in attacking and defense.
