One other thing about this televised match which caught my attention and which I was absolutely DELIGHTED to see was then use of super slow motion replay to overturn calls and get it right, especially given the tempo/speed of the game. I hope that quickly matriculates down to USA college VB. I can't imagine many schools can afford the number and quality of cameras and camera operators to come close to replicating the FIVB Replay product. the replay system is basically the same as a recording security system in HD with fixed cams (no operators) and a tech to run the software which syncronizes playback on a monitor. hardware (24 hd hispeed cams & a computer) is no where as expensive as even 5 years ago - thanks goPro. but will fivb or whoever owns the software (might even be off the shelf) make a deal with the NCAA to get better replays thru tech. football & basketball can afford a few more fixed cams on lines & above the rim. the main stickler would be delay in getting replay rulings with more cams unless you commit more 'watchers' to help the 'deciders' find the best angles. even with replay i thought mistakes were made when a ball hit into the top of the net wasnt touched by the block, but upon a challenge it was ruled blocker into net, not net into blocker from force of the ball. i expect the usual bureaucratic intertia but i'd hope regional finals & finals soon use the tech that's out there after some practice so it's not so daunting to the officials & slow for the fans

. . . Let's hope World Cup doesn't turn out as abysmal as GP. with that sentiment you should almost never watch college VB or professional VB until it comes to the final 4-8 teams for whatever competition to avoid comparably 'abysmal' teams playing each other.

Matriculates...trickle...well they sort of sound the same.

Karch has always liked Easy, I think she'll be in Rio. Murphy had an off week, obviously, but I still like what she brings to the table. The staff loves Murphy.... Short of injuries- this Grand Prix squad is the the roster rio. One middle and likely the second liberal will be cut. I don't agree. I think they like Easy and they should, but so much can happen in a year. Harmotto went from 4th middle to starter in the three months before picking the team in 2012.

Amazing to think that Karsta Lowe was only a WALK-ON at UCLA her first season(s)? and now she is MVP of the World Grand Prix! I know that Mike Sealy gets a lot of heat on this board, but kudos to him and his staff for seeing the diamond in the rough and helping develop her into the player she is. Also great to see Kreklow get some recognition! Well deserved! Guarantee UCLA was just as surprised at her development as everyone else.

Did China have their best player in the match, the one that killed us twice in Hawaii?
