Just checked the stats.. The USA didn't make many errors. Plummer only had 2. Lanier and Sun had 3. Stone was error free

Not to hex this group, but they are in fairly unchartered territory for a US team.
FIVB began this competition in 1989 for Girls U-18. The US finished 4th in both 2003 and 2005, with the only medal (silver) for the US coming in the last playing of the championship in Thailand in 2013 at this age group. That team was swept by the Chinese in the final.
FIVB U-20, Women's Junior Championships, which began in 1977, the US finished 4th in 2007. The US side has never medaled at this age group. (too bad our 2015 team isn't able to compete this year due to the FIVB moving the Championship from Cyprus in July to Puerto Rico in September and almost all of the roster being comprised of college players and coaches).
FIVB's Women's competition began in 1952. In 1967 the US finished second to Japan. The US beat Japan in 1982 for bronze. In 1990, the US won bronze again defeating Cuba. In 2002, the US won silver, losing to Italy in the final. In 2010 the US side lost to Japan and finished 4th. In 2014, the US Women's side defeated China winning their first ever Women's World Championship.
So for those wondering how well we have fared historically, the answer is not very well. This is a great opportunity for the young women, families, coaches, fans and USA Volleyball to celebrate the continued interest and ascension of the game in the US. Let's Go Red, White and Blue!

I think this team has a really good chance. Sun, Lanier and Plummer are fierce forces at the net. Three very physical pin hitters. Stone and Pittman are really good blockers and hitters as well.

Let's not forget our setters or libero as well. I know that if Hentz were the starting libero, Disc, that you would be referencing her play. Let's go, USA.

No one's chiding others. It's completely in line with an earlier post of mine on this thread. Are you related to Disc? Agent?
We've seen far snarkier comments that haven't raised the judgement police, 'sup.

You can both be interested in recruits that will be attend the school you affiliate with and support Team USA. They are not mutually exclusive.

They are completely mutually exclusive. Worrying about the stats of a particular player who is destined to wear another uniform someday has NOTHING to do with the team that they are on now. Ironically, the particular post by Disc that I responded to didn't single out Stanford players, like others have and many others from other posters do. It bugs. Is the interest in how the US U-18 Team is doing, regardless of who is on the court, or how it's doing relative to the players that will one day wear a particular schools uni? I submit it's the latter and that this is all part of the "what are my stats?" and "how am I doing" instead of worrying about how the team is doing.

Ironically, the particular post by Disc that I responded to didn't single out Stanford players, like others have and many others from other posters do. Exactly as you said above. So...no reason to have thrown a tizzy about it. Disc was talking about pin hitters. There are only three of them on a team. Could've just been left at that.

This guy's "fired up" lately with how Tiffany Clark is under appreciated on this boards. I think that it was a little premature to mention the poster along with Hentz when in fact the whole point of his post was about the pin hitters of this team. Clark is not a hitter, right?

I recently just found videos on this channel and just wanted to share. Watching these videos, the more I wonder why Ronika stone wasn't ranked higher but it's just a number surely Stone will be a great player for Oregon. Watching her slide attack is very fun. All of these players have tons of potential and can't wait to see some of them play next season
