I was mainly referring to you asking how high exactly, in which I think most people know, was to be snarky, in which the case is, someone doesn't need to know how high someone jumps to know one jumps higher. Whoosh.

Also, Fitzmorris has more international experience and is so versatile. If both Fitz and Plummer aren't in the top 3 I think they'd be robbed. Things could change, but I personally don't see Stivrins ranked higher than Fitz. What would they be getting "robbed" of, exactly? Subjective recruiting services' opinions?

I know a lot of people didn't put a lot of weight on the AAU's this year because of the lack of participation of most of the top 25 teams in the country but I'd like to recognize these girls as well!!!
AAU Nationals All American Team
13 Madison Cruzado AVC Cleveland Rox 17 N Hawks
16 Madeleine LeGrande Illini Elite 17 Cardinal
2 Chanti Holroyd City Beach 17-1
11 Giovanna Milana Oakland Elite 17-1
41 Sierra Pla AVC Cleveland Rox 17 N Hawks
25 Micki Quakenbush Illini Elite 17 Cardinal
12 Elizabeth Loschen Nebraska Jrs 171
13 Tai Bierria A5 Mizuno 171 Jing
9 Erin Slinde Mizuno Northern Lights 17-1
28 Allie Barber Milwaukee Sting 17 Gold
8 Hannah Turnlund City Beach 17-1
3 Lauren Mcleod Oakland Elite 17-1
29 Maddy Davis Illini Elite 17 Cardinal 2
IMHO, Gia Milana is the most underrated player on this list (and on most of the lists that have been posted on this thread so far).
She does not have the "staff" of players around her like most of the big time players have. Her team finished 3rd in open and beat some very solid teams. If you look at most of the top hitters in the country, they have some pretty amazing setters dishing them the ball.
She is one of the most athletic players out there and is a true six rotation player - can pass, play defense, serve, block, get tons of points - the whole package!
All of these girls mentioned in this subject so far are amazing and could be on top on any given day and it will be fun to watch them in college!

I really like Gia, I have some players that played with her when they train with HP and they say she's awesome. She reminds me a lot of Macey Gardner. Doesn't jump extremely high but terminates balls. We will see if she makes the youth national team!

I wonder if Gia can be the start of a volleyball renaissance for Maryland.

So glad to hear some accolades for Gia. She was hands down the best player at AAUs. Her vertical is better than u think- right at that 10' mark. But it is the speed of her approach and the power she generates that set her apart- and she is turning into a legit 6 rotation player. Watch out for the Terps!!!!

Katie Oleksak's parents must be on this board because a few of you guys talk about her like she's the second coming of Lauren Carlini.

Granted, I haven't seen her play, but from all accounts, it seems like she struggled at nationals and most sane and reliable people on this board think Miller is the clear best setter in the class

Yeah you're right. She set the last two national champions and lost in the finals of a third. How did she do beating the #1 team in the nation in the semis? Storm has an outstanding OH and Middle, an above average RS and not much else. She is a big reason they are awesome! Won the MVP at 16's.
You haven't seen her? People say she struggled at Nationals (which she didn't, she was actually better than ever when I watched)? Watch her one time and you will see the kid is a stud. Miller and Norene are both excellent but not near the setter she is IMO. They may be a better athlete, but no one sets a better ball than Katie. Tempo and placement are simply the best!
I'm not Katie's dad, but I am a dad of a pretty high level setter in this age group, so I know what I'm looking at.
Oh yeah, I have watched them all play (kind of important when voicing an opinion on players).

I just don't get how one can say this setter is bettter than that setter, when all of these girls are pretty impessive. My gosh and these are coming from grown adults!

Did I say I think one is better than the other? No. I said most reliable people on this board seem to think Norene and Kylie are better setters. Chisovniks comment was about them propping her up, and I agree. People are propping her up to carlini status. Which, I don't care if I haven't seen her play, I can say with 10000 percent certainty isn't warranted. If she's ranked higher, great. Also, she had offers from Oregon, Notre dame, CSU and various other PAC schools, So I have no doubt in my mind that she's excellent, but from what I've heard, Kylie is better.

It doesn't really matter, once these girls get to college, we will see who takes it to the next level. So many highly touted players out of high school/club don't pan out in college!

But YOU haven't seen her. I don't understand how you can feel qualified to comment on kids that you've never seen. You feel that confident commenting and trusting the word of anonymous posters that you've never met and never worked with without ever seeing the kid for yourself? I just don't understand.
