Congrats to USD for a great season. With the addition of Kaity Edwards next year in the middle, they are going to be good. Even though Finley is graduating, it seems like the freshman Lauren Fuller has started to adapt to the college game. Fuller, Kennedy, Picha, Edwards, Schad, and Kramer are a great group of hitters to build off of. Plus, they return the libero and one of the setters. USD should be good next year.
Santa Clara has also had a great year. This team returns everyone except the libero Danielle Rottman, who did an absolute fantastic job this year. Santa Clara should be good next year as well.
BYU is facing a tough WKU team at home. I am excited to see the match tomorrow!

Hoping to have two WCC teams in the sweet 16 next weekend. Go Cougars! BYU is very fortunate to escape yesterday -- i was so impressed with Ohio. They are much improved from last year's first out team. But it was like a flashback to last year. BYU came up with big points late in the set to win.

Hoping to have two WCC teams in the sweet 16 next weekend. Go Cougars! It sure would be great, wouldn't it? Here's hoping BYU can pull if off against a tough Western Kentucky team. Congratulations to LMU on their fantastic win last night. I was so excited to get home from the BYU match and see that result. Just wish I could have watched it. Was hoping for a Santa Clara win. Did anyone watch that match?

I saw the Santa Clara match. SCU looked very crisp in the first set, and then their offense faltered late in the other sets with some unforced hitting errors at critical times. Defense was superb on both sides and there were a number of very long rallies, the majority of which were seemed to ultimately be won by Michigan. Michigan was great at keeping balls in play and finding ways to get kills off of totally broken plays. Nikki Hess had the match high 15 kills with 9 digs. Clayton had 11 kills. Maas had some nice kills in the middle. McCreadie had a very off night at Opp. Rottman had 29 digs. Mead had 36 assists and 11 digs. Michigan got great offense from Kieffer-Wright on the slide. She had 13 kills and 8 blocks. Michigan had 15 blocks and SCU had 12. Murphy had 12 kills. Michigan had 75 digs and SC had 72. UM libero Lerg played great defense all night. At the end of the night SCU put too many balls a few inches out of the court, but put up a tough fight.

Interesting to note that Boswell from BYU and Rottman and Mead from Santa Clara are the only WCC players on WCC all-conference, AVCA all-region, and WCC all-academic teams. Congrats to all the women on the All-Academic team for success both on the court and in the classroom.

Sad to see both BYU and LMU end their tournament runs in the Sweet 16. But still a very good showing for the WCC with 4 teams in the tournament, 3 advancing to 2nd round and 2 making it to the Sweet 16. Looking forward to the 2016 season, and I would expect even more parity within the conference with the huge strides Portland made this season, and with the loss of Gray from BYU.

You should set up a WCC Pick-The-Winner next season. Craziness will ensue, and it will make everyone else feel better about how they do in the main PTW

Congrats to BYU and LMU on great seasons. I will certainly miss Alexa Gray playing for BYU. She has had an exceptional career at BYU and she will certainly be missed. I hope she has a great career in whatever she chooses to pursue. I am sure that she would have a great professional career if she chooses to play professionally.
LMU certainly has come a long way from where they were in the beginning of the season. I really thought that they were not going to make the tournament this year but they steadily improved throughout the season and ended up with one of the best finishes in school history. They are going to miss the seniors and the contributions they have made in their careers. I am excited to see how LMU plays next season!

This probably falls under a WCC 2016 thread, but is the Bia Franklin USF has signed for 2016 the Bia from Brazil? That's a pretty good get for that program right?

Have you ever seen her play? If she is good she may be the other good OH that USF has been lacking this past season.
