Completely agree with mvc17vb. A sophomore will not win POY. Szews & Zeske seem to be my frontrunners. Anyone want to attempt a preseason top 10 list? I'll attempt to make one (disclaimer, this will be a hack job) 1. New Berlin (returning almost all major players- minus Collins) 2. Tosa East (return of Plaisted family dominance? If they can set they can compete for a state championship) 3. MUHS (my knowledge is running out already lol, Roenitz can hit and pass, lauer should provide offense, see if they can reload this year) 4. Kettle Moraine ( complete shot in the dark I know they are returning a solid outside who played in sting 17 5. Brook East (lost a lot of guys but Szews and Watry could carry them along with tyler who was out last year) 6. Completely lost here tosa west is returning some guys, McGillis and the setter. Arrowhead is returning their Libero who is a good player, probably missing some teams here please add to this list if you have better info Tosa East seems high for me. Not sure just a right side can do that much damage in high school. I agree with Tosa West getting some love ... IF they can put things together. It was kind of a mess last year when I saw them. Talent doesn't always equal success.

"Bold" Predictions by Sectional: #1 - A-North, Kaukauna, Kimberly #2 - Germantown, Homestead, Wauk West #3 - Kettle Moraine, CMH #4 - Burlington, Middleton, Mukwon #5 - Horlick, Westosha, Indian Trail #6 - New Berlin, Muskego #7 - MUHS #8 - B-East, Tosa East, Tosa West Top 2 Headed into season = MUHS, New Berlin I can only comment about Sectional #5 and have to disagree. Horlick lost too much in Instenes and Romano, Westosha wasn't very good last year and lost a few big hitters, Indian Trail will be ok but young. Tremper had quite a few of there sophomores play club this year so they might be improved. Bradford made it to the sectional final last year losing to Burlington and they return their two outsides (if you believe wisports.net one of them led in kills) that carried the team but lost their setter.

In other words, it is the weakest sectional in history of VB.

In other words, it is the weakest sectional in history of VB. Isn't it always? Horlick, Tremper, Brandord, and Indian Trail are all in the same sectional? Is Burlington in that too?

With many talented seniors gone, what are the board's top players in the state by position?

These are just some, I'm sure I'm leaving some out.
Outsides: Zeske, Roenitz Opposites: Szews, Plaisted, Farrell Setters: Watry, Campbell (a lot of good setters across the board, should be interesting to see who emerges) Middles: ? Rhode, Parker, Dixon, Marquette has some height Liberos: Kraninger, Pralle, Shebesta

OH from Bradford is solid. Libero from Horlick. Is Althoff from Tremper healthy? Short kid but best vertical in SE WI.

Thought he moved to opposite this past club season. I think that was out of necessity as they had no one else avail to play outside. You are right though, as he did a really good job there. Maybe he'll be there when the season starts.

I noticed that Whitefish Bay doesn't have a head coach listed for boys volleyball and they are looking for applicants (http://www.wfbschools.com/schools/high/CoachingOpportunities.cfm).

Sept 12 - Racine Park, New Berlin
Sept 19 - Tosa East, Germantown, Waukesha North
Sept 26 - Kaukauna, Westosha Central
Oct 3 - Middleton, Kenosha Indian Trail, Shorewood
Oct 10 - Whitefish Bay
Oct 17 - Middleton, Kenosha Tremper
Oct 24 - Homestead

Last I heard he should be able to play again sometime in Feb. And to put names to your other's: OH from Bradford - Jacob Christensen, Libero from Horlick: Jake Sawalski I believe.
