Well those thousands of parents must all be delusional then right? Since this topic seems to pop up every few years. And they keep sending their daughters there and they continue to win National Championship after National Championship. I'm not supporting one side or the other. But this is a witch hunt. No one has access to the primary testimony under oath? if there was any right? Is this information able to be accessed to the public? Maybe I am more intelligent than most to research more than journalism pieces or anonymous threads/posts. The original question was "Would you still support him if he raped your daughter?" As funvb pointed out, you have yet to answer that. This is a horrible question. How could you both ask that of someone? And say he's a rapest? I would ask that you both read the letter responses from Cheryl in vbnerds post. It gives a bit more insight to the issue. And btw the Bremners had their daughter play for him after this issue. That tells me a lot, I have a very hard time believing for one second that any parents would put their daughter in a situation that they deemed unsafe. Bonnie was the top setter in the country, she could have played at any club and still have gone to Penn State. So the argument that they cared more about getting a scholarship and such is hogwash. I want to make sure it's understood I do not condone the actions with a player, but I also understand that in the 80s this kind of thing happened a lot in volleyball (which I know, does not make it right) but to vilify one man 20-25 years later after this has already been dealt with just seems very unfair.

Those aren't primary sources. But I can tell you are an educated person. You have a nice screen name.

If you want to have an informed opinion on this, shouldn't you go find the information before posting about it? Not exactly a subject you are going to want to take a risk on.

Unreal. I simply can't believe this. My daughter will never play for a coach who slept with his player. End of story.

You don't think Cheryl's posts are biased just as much as anyone else's?

Yes it is a horrible question, which is why no one has answered it.

Obviously those 16 year old players thought he was hot and got it on with him back in the day; just innocent fun in the early 80's... What's the big deal ? ?

So I quickly read this. This has to do with an appeal on the expulsion from usa volleyball. Correct? There is no testimony. Correct? USA Volleyball was legal authority not our state or federal court system. Correct? This has nothing to do with actual hearing conducted by USA volleyball just the appeal on expulsion and due process. Correct? They are not looking at case but due process. Correct? I'm dumb according to alarmclock... Educate me or us.

Did you read his quotes where he admitted to sexual relations with three teenage players? There are no direct quotes from Butler in document. Just the summary of usa volleyball findings. It is NOT a summary. It is the judgement of the case WRITTEN BY one of the JUDGES. And, if you care, she is a SUPREME court judge, not some flunky. Those are her words based on the evidence presented. It is not some BS website, it is official Illinois court page. I do not know what your game is trying to act stupid, but now that three people have told you AND have provided DIRECT quotes from the JUDGE so you can read the summary without have to read all those words (go back to page one of the thread), your silly questions are answered.
