So...after 48 pages in the current discussion, several discussions on this and other boards over the years that seem to mirror this one, court decisions that offer nothing, sanctions and reversal of sanctions by the governing bodies, we seem to be at the same place and the 8 of you who are keeping this thread alive are probably not going to change your opinions. Everyone has choices to make in their life, and this is no different.
Those that have a problem with him have already made the decision not to send their kids to his club to play or for camps...their choice.
JVA clubs have decided to allow him to coach in their tournaments... their choice.
Most college coaches have decided to recruit his players...their choice
Clubs send their teams to his tournaments...their choice
Parents spend their money their to watch their kids play at his facility...their choice
Clubs around the country are tapping into his business and volleyball knowledge and pay to do so...their choice
I have attended many tournaments over the years at their facility. While I cringe at what I've heard, I don't fear for my daughter's safety because he is sitting on a bench on another court across the building from me. But that's the decision I've made, not yours. We know several families who send their daughters and sons to the club and have had nothing but a great experience, and yes, they know the stories, but do not fear for their childrens safety...this is their choice, not mine or yours.
I'll put this out their to you...
1. Club Directors...if it bothers you enough, don't attend his tournaments
2. Coaches...if it bothers you enough, don't coach at his club or for any club that attends his tournaments
3. Parents...if you don't feel comfortable, don''t play for his club
4. Parents...if you feel very strongly, don't play for a club that attends his tournaments or have your daughters sit out that tournament
As DM said earlier, I offer no support or defense of the parties in question, but the handful of people that have filled these 48 pages need to make a decision for themselves. The amount of "ink" on these pages hasn't brought anything new to the table.
Make your own choice.
