Looks like SEC went from 4 teams possibly hosting to 2. MIZ and UK are out of the top 16 RPI right now. Only Mizzou win over A&M and SC will get them back in. Rightfully, UK doesn't deserve hosting anymore.
FOTY: was thinking McIlroy, but Munlyn just got her 3rd FOTW in 4 weeks, so....
COTY: Winner of Wednesday's MU vs. A&M match.
POTY: won't be Kan. Her in conference numbers just don't hold up. Babers.
Agree with naked crayon All-SEC
I agree Munlyn is a stud BUT McIlroy has more then double the TA Mc: 973 Mun: 422 And McIlroy is almost a kill per set more Mc: 2.74 Mun:1.92 AND McIlroy has been a 6 rotation player since day one. And they both have been FOTW 3 times If McIlroy is not voted FOTY that would be a crime

Munlyn is on a better team, voting usually goes that way. And McIlroy is hitting less than .150 and clearly is not a great passer at just .907 or defender at the net with 0.34 blocks - seems more like six rotation player by necessity. Munlyn's SEC numbers are absurd...hitting .417 with 1.21 bps according to Mizzou's site.

let's be fair. To compare the kill rate of a hitter vs. a middle?!
Points per set (In conference): Brenna 3.11 Munlyn 2.70,. Is that overwhelming for someone who's on court twice as much? And 2 of Brenna's FOTW's were pre-season. Munlyn's have all come in last 4 weeks, when her season still means something. Munlyn has passed Brenna. Sorry. No crime here.

Munlyn, hands down for FOY. Under .150 hitting percentage doesn't grab your attention.

My choices Munlyn for FOY Babers or Alahassan for POY SEC Team OH Carly Kan OH Pilar Victoria M Rhahmet Alhassan M Jazzmin Babers RS Alex Holston S Stepanie Aiple Libero Ashley Dusek Congratulations to TAMU for a fantastic year! I saw that they had a new coach on the sidelines with them. When did that happen? Does anyone know why? I think nakedcrayon nailed it except I would have to agree with Jenny Hazelwood for Aiple at POY or possibly Babers if it usually goes to a hitter. Babers has had an impressive year. She was named Player of the week 3 times and Defensive Player of the week 4 times. Aiple has lead her team to an impressive .276 compared to opponents at .195 Aiple distributes the ball to lead a very balanced offense and has both middles hitting over .400. She has been named Setter of the week for the 5th time. I think she has 6 double-doubles (correct me if I'm wrong). That's pretty impressive considering that TAMU is at the bottom of the SEC in digs and they aren't known for their serve receive. From what I saw this year, there were a ton of one on one opportunities for the pins this year and they were blocked or hit it out. Was that common in the majority of the matches? Put Kan on that Aiple quick outside set with TAMU's middles and OMG!

Well put. Let's hope these are first steps in great SEC careers, and not just flashes (or 2017 transfers to B1G-10).

SEC announced annual awards today:
www.secsports.com/article/14212507/2015-sec-volleyball-awards-announced
Player of the Year: Stephanie Aiple, Texas A&M
Libero of the Year: Ashley Dusek, Kentucky
Freshman of the Year: Alyssa Munlyn, Missouri
Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Stephanie Campbell, Auburn
Coach of the Year: Laurie Corbelli, Texas A&M
Alyssa Munlyn was the only freshman named to the 18-member All-SEC team, so I guess it really wasn't close between Munlyn and McIlroy after all.
Georgia, LSU, and MSU shut-out of awards.

I think these look right for the most part. Only comment is that I maybe could've removed Recek or Larson and added another libero to the list. Never any love for the liberos, 1 out of 18. You basically have to be the best in the league to even get thought about.
