18 on the SEC All-Conference First Team! It's like a participation trophy only better. In 2013, they stopped naming first and second teams and just started doing these big lists. In 2010 and 2011, the two lists had 19 players. In 2012, they named 22 players! Since they combined the lists they've held it to 18 every year.

Offensive Player of the Week
Alex Warren • Mississippi State
Senior • RS • 6-1 • San Antonio, Texas

Warren is the first player since Kimmy Gardiner in 2013 to record at least 25 kills in a match for MSU. She tallied 10 kills in the final set against Ole Miss, the second time this season she has recorded double-digit kills in a single set. She finished with 20.0 and 27.0 points in both matches, making it three straight matches of 20.0-plus points. Her 27.0 total points against Ole Miss also set a career high. Any thoughts on coaching changes in the conference? Stemke? Swanson? Maybe Robbie after Arkansas' in-conference debacle?
Rob clearly made some progress at Tennessee this year. Bama had a very disappointing pre-season, and Ole Miss was a bit of a fizzle, but I don't think either program would be looking to make a change.
Not wishing for anyone to be let go - just curious if people think any moves will get made.

I think everyone is safe this season. Tennessee made strides the only thing that could hurt that is mass transfers like the past few seasons. I really liked the way Auburn played this year, hard stayed in matches gave teams all they could handle. SC and Miss St did much better. Alabama key injuries early and then never got it going again. LSU was a mess this past season. Arkansas beside that 6 match stretch really underperformed. Florida played with no emotion but still in Sweet 16 as per usual. Kentucky was too young this year, at it showed in tight sets. Similar to TAMU last year when they lost most of the tight sets while young.
Georgia will probably make a change if next season is like this season.

As far as Tennessee, I don't see a mass exodus this year as in previous years. All starters with the exception of the setter who is graduating will return, along with a good incoming class. Rob's group performed well this year and were hampered by injuries on the last stretch of the season where the competition got tougher. Rough timing. Who will be the setter in 2016 will be the question mark for this team, defense should be steady and hitting likely to pick up.
Georgia would be my obvious guess for any coaching changes. Even Tennessee the last two years managed to pull out one win a year in the SEC. Zero wins is hard to do.
On another note, anyone else surprised by Valle as FOY over Mcilroy in the south region? smh

Also, 6 nods for Florida? I guess if their whole starting lineup is potential All-Americans and they lead the NCAA with all region selections, nothing less than Final 4 would be acceptable.

to me there are only 5 names worthy of possibly being in the 1-3rd teams
M Alahassan M Babers S Aiple RS Holston OH Pilar Victoria
I don't think the last two make it. Holston didn't have the stats for it compared to others and previous season. Pilar has good numbers but I see quite a few over her across the nation as OH's
Aiple and Babers are third team, maybe one can squeeze into second team.If they had beaten Hawaii maybe a better chance. Babers numbers compare favorably with many of the middles across the country but this would be her first selection. Aiple set location is great but that is not a quantifiable stat. Alahassan is second team minimum and possibly first team depending upon the number of middles taken.

Unless they are taking only 1 middle, she will be 1st team, and even if they only took one she would still have a great shot of taking the slot.

Lianna Sylbeldon of Washington will be first team...others I would predict as middles in no particular order
Lutz, Babers, Alahassan, Rolfzen, Ogbougo, Washington and Whitney although she floated a lot from RS and Middle
From that list Alahassan is the best in my opinion after Sylbeldon so she should get first team but bear minimum is second team

I think Victoria's numbers give her a decent shot for 3rd team, tbh. Led conference and Top 15 nationally in kps and pps, plus three 30-kill matches. There are lots of very good OH's, though.

Well that could maybe explain their lackluster performance down the stretch.
