There's a California public PAC-12 that took a worse loss this weekend, was way worse last year, and isn't going to get better in 2016 like UCLA will. I was thinking the same thing. It's still early in the season and they were playing without Smith-Gooden, Rennie and Schonewise - certainly there's no way but up. Another season of missing the NCAA tournament, well that's another story. And I don't think they're bringing in studs for next season too.

Cannot imagine that Rob's cream puff non-con schedule will save him. If they don't do better in the SEC, his seat will be blazing. They were, after all, picked below a bad SC team and a very historically weak MS State team in the pre-season poll. Beating a bunch of weak sisters isn't what that program is looking for.

But I was just saying he'd definitely be in front of Sealy on the warming seats.

Hard to understand Sealy's game decisions, lineup choices and especially recruiting
Not on the hot seat but he is frustrating...and yes maybe will finally have a good recruiting class coming in

I don't see how you can mess up the recruiting at a program like UCLA, which basically sells itself to recruits.

I may not understand Sealy's game time decisions. EVER. Curious why he would be in the "hot seat?" They went 22-12 last year. The superstar walkon saved his job IMO.

Sealy so far has done a good job messing up the recruiting...UCLA used to be the destination..recently he seems to have relied on transfers

I will not get into the details why recruits did not like him but it eventually cost him his job. Andy lucked out with Meriwether becos all his targets (Gysin, Britenriker) turned him down and He offered Nana. According to one article he also expected Kelly Reeves to walk on but eventually had room for her because he probably missed out on whom he wanted. UCLA has the advantage of not giving scholarships to libero. This is because it is a public school in California and there are many good back row players who are willing to walk on. I wasnt sad when Andy retired and I was shocked when Sealy was hired. I did not like him (he wasnt recruiting well for Hawaii and UCLA when he was an assistant at both schools) but He has early successes. However, I think it might have gone into his head and calling him a terrible recruiter is an understatement when the likes of JMac and Moore can outrecruit you in California,

Colorado went 2-1 on the first weekend, knocking off #9 FSU and Oklahoma. Losing to San Diego.

Expectations at UCLA are higher than most. 22-12 would be amazing at many schools, not there. You need to be in the top 1-2 of the pac 12 and in the hunt for a national championship. If he did 22-12 at Washington st., he would be a god. At UCLA, not so much.

I wish UCLA cared that much about womens volleyball.

I know that. I heard that Meriwether wanted UCLA but her dad wanted her to go to Duke. Anyway Bananchowski did not have a scholarship for her at that time as he already had a huge 2003 class with Green, Lyman, CArter and Johnson. UCLA only had one scholarship to give in 2004 and went hard after Gysin. Even John Tawa thought the recruitment of Gysin will come down to Stanford and UCLA especially since Lyman and she are best friends. She picked USC. UCLA went after Nicole Britenriker who was the last top 10 recruit to commit in her class. She chose to stay home and picked OSU. This means a scholarship was available for Meriwether and she transferred to UCLA and have a record setting career
