UNC fan checking in. I actually just moved away from the triangle area for school so and have been really busy recently. I didn't really hear about their weekend until yesterday and while I was a bit disappointed my allegiances lie with another university now. I won't be able to watch Duke and UNC (and NC State, but they're like the red headed stepchild of the triangle vball family) in person anymore but there's still Sulo and a few Duke fans on the board that should pick up my slack.

It probably means nothing, but in re-reading the match notes for this weekend, it lists the probable starters for the Badgers as: 1 Lauren Carlini S Jr. 2 Romana Krišková OH RS 3 Lauryn Gillis OH So. 4 Kelli Bates OH So. 6 Taylor Morey L Sr. 11 Tionna Williams MB 13 Haleigh Nelson MB This is the most frequent lineup we saw in the HotelRed, too, if I recall. I assume they leave tonight after practice. And they get to fly because it's +400 miles? (which is good, because I saw 16 charter buses today within a mile radius of each other waiting to take folks to the Epic conference. Some of them weren't even local charters!). And still no word on livestats. Whattheheck? Updated on OP. www.uwbadgers.com/gametracker/launch/gt_wvolley.html?event=1424833&school=wis&sport=wvolley&camefrom=&startschool=&BUT! I do see a video link for the Louisville/Wisconsin match on Saturday. I know some folks were wondering! It appears to be a 24 hour pass for $6.95. Again, not this match.

I believe Tar Heel fans would correct you to say the sky is Tarheel blue. So,big block? Work on the slide, spread the offense around. Any strength to putting the bigger Duello in for Bates at times? I know thats risky and Duello was playing from the right this weekend. Well domo arigato Mr. Roboto. Domo. Oooh. Duello was streaky at best, which was to be expected. Problem is, she really didn't see enough time to get better and only swung a few times from the left. I think it'll be Kelly because of what she brings defensively, even while in the front row.

Sometimes when I read the "Badger Insider" or other UWBadger stories I think "thanks for reading Volleytalk and responding to our questions and gripes (and also giggling about our prognostications)."
And thus, an explanation on the delay in the presentation of livestat links and the lack of video.
LIVE STATS AND VIDEO STREAM ADDED Due to Louisville going through a change in their website provider, there has been a delay in the links for live stats and live video for this weekend. Saturday’s match vs. Louisville will be streamed live here (no stream available for North Carolina match). In addition, live stats for the North Carolina match will be available here. Live stats from the Louisville match should be also be available but please check the schedule page of UWBadgers.com for the link on Saturday.

Thanks, Triangle and although I have long been away from being at the "Triangle" I still am a Tar Heel fan from afar. As I have stated earlier on a different thread, with the exception of maybe one year, Coach Sagula always schedules tough with the theory being(I believe) that it makes you stronger in October, November and December although this year appears to be the toughest schedule I have seen. I think Sagula wants to try to establish a place among the upper echelon by going up against the best. We shall see the outcome in a couple of weeks. No embarrassment to lose to USC on the road or ranked BYU but I imagine the UNC staff would have liked to have gone at least 2-1 last weekend. UNC is solid, blocks well and plays great floor defense but it will not be easy this weekend in Louisville against the Badgers and Gophers. I have a dilemma as I am a Gopher fan too. Can you play to a tie in Volleyball?

Anyone notice that the hardworking (well, they are all hardworking, but he's super serious) bespeckled ballboy grew so much in the last year? It's cool how a couple of kids do this for 3 or so years. That's dedication.

Can you play to a tie in Volleyball? I sometimes wished for that in the sideout days. Some of those matches were like trench warfare. UNC schedule does seem ridiculously tough, although maybe he thought he was getting UW and UM in various phases of transition. ACC is certainly the priority for UNC, but you worry that the team could get demoralized.

Now and then she should drop in, kind of godlike suspended from ceiling by wires or sitting on a moon, to be retracted upward after dispensing some juicy (but officially vetted) information .. kind of like Tawa does.

Badgerbreath, I think your point is a good one, although I'm sure Coach Sagula knows and respects both Wisconsin and Minnesota and knew they would be difficult opponents. Objectively, it would not surprise me if UNC ends up losing two this weekend although I believe 1-1 is more likelyand, if they play well, they are good enough to win both. It should be very interesting and I wish I were going to see the matches,

It should be very interesting and I wish I were going to see the matches, I'm really dissappointed we're not going to see this match. Should learn an awful lot about both teams. In Sagula's defense, the Badgers are definitely in transition. The confusion, uncertainty and lack of connection we saw at time last weekend will be reduced now they seem to have settled on how they will set up. But the fact is every team is improving fast this time of the year. I find making predictions about these early matches a complete crap shoot. The weight placed on these early matches in final seeding also seems arbitrary. Who knows what Minnesota will bring. It's not clear to me they have figured out how they will set up, yet, and Santana appears to be hampered by some injury, which is a problem for them. They are still showing signs of the brittleness and inconsistency that was so destructive to them last year. I would favor UNC there until I see some evidence that Minnesota has figured out what it's doing.

Badgerbreath-"...You give me hope, you help me cope with this heavy load..." I think Wisc/UNC is a toss up and maybe give a slight edge to UNC over Minnesota based on last weeks performances. However, if Minnesota plays well, they certainly can win. Like I said, as a huge fan of both programs I would like a tie, but......

My predictions on the weekend: Heels over Badgers & Gophers, Badgers over Cards, Cards over Gophers.
Chris @ PrepVolleyball has Badgers over Heels and Gophers over Cards, both in 4. He didn't weigh in on the other matches.
Should be some darned good volleyball either way.
Also, bourbon.

Man that would sound fun if the taste of bourbon didn't make me sick to my stomach...long story...
Give us reports! I'll be listening on my phone tomorrow while having my walkabouts (OK that was an Aussie-ism).
