I know Diane reads us. *waves* Hi, Diane! Now and then she should drop in, kind of godlike suspended from ceiling by wires or sitting on a moon, to be retracted upward after dispensing some juicy (but officially vetted) information .. kind of like Tawa does. So we can run a test: Diane (or Carey...), please tell us via Twitter when the kids are leaving today (and by what means). And post some happy team pictures. I can't get those Friday press conference pictures out of my head. It wouldn't be charter (I don't think) so maybe it isn't after practice. And part of me thinks if they are driving to ORD (which they sometimes do) it's almost no longer worth it to fly; they are nearly halfway there!

I love listening to it on the radio if I can't make the match.

So the latest tweet has them exiting a charter bus to apparently get on a charter plane! Coincidence? Or answering my request and question? And apparently Carey isn't there anymore.

Nothing on CBS Sports Live either. On the bright side for Michigan/Michigan State fans, both matches will be on Tarheel TV.

Beginning to believe. /photo/1

That is a really small plane.,why do they take three different planes?

They take three because they are small. If they are the same type of planes that they used in the early 2000's when I was around, each one holds 8-9. One is usually mostly coaches and admin and the other two are players. From the picture it looks like they are spreading the players and coaches out.
Much fun was had on the plane. Good card games, small dance parties...
Edit: obviously these are the university chartered jets, not small commercial planes.

I've seen pictures of them on bigger planes before that hold maybe 20-24? The state no longer has its own fleet, or maybe has 1-2 planes (sold off during the mid aughts); these are leases.
Looks like White, Carlini, Juley (or is it Duello??), Smith, Robbins (or A-Mac?), practice dude Greg, and the smile you can't miss Gillis. She should work for Colgate Palmolive or something.
Also, I added UNC game notes to the OP. Lists Fricano as #1 when she is clearly #23 (2+3 = 5? Or MJ?)

Reminds me of being in the bore of an MRI machine. Way too claustrophobic to ride in a plane like that and at 6'7 not enough leg room.

How is JRs defense? What if she came in the serve for HN?

OK Wisky fans. On my way to Louisville and it occurs to me that since there's limited coverage of the match, maybe you'd prefer stats or info to my cheering. Can't do both. ? Understanding that I am a, uh, "seasoned" spectator but not a professional, what sort of stuff are you interested in? For example, if you asked me that question I would say serve-rec (3,2,1 passes).

We have a Badgerbill and a Gophergal! Nice.
We like any and all kind of information. Especially if there is a great slide or a pancake save, feel free to say "awesome pancake/slide by the Badgers" (we understand you won't know the players).
Observations on the serve receive/passing, how the second ball is going if the Badger setter (#1, you may have heard of her) digs, etc would be great.
We'll take anything! Thanks for cheering. I'm pretty sure Rainbowbadger will return the favor, as they are there too!
Also, we'd like to hear about the freshmen - that's #11, #14, #12, (the most likely) and how they are doing. We saw lots of A-Mac #7 last week, so we know she adjusted quickly.
So....we'll take anything!!! Bates (#4) had a rough start last weekend but started to bounce back by the subsequent matches, and Gillis (#3) looked great on offense.

I would like to know about setter/hitter connections and how close they are to being on the same page - that is how many kinks have been worked out in the past week and how far they have to go yet. Have a great time all who can make it!
