The Big and PAC in particular dont have to spend much energy in trying to get great competition outside of conference. You usually see a marquee match/tournament, and then whoever. Their league provides all the excitement you could want and more. Agreed. Would think it matters more for teams in the other conferences Its been huge for the growth of the ACC in terms of teams in tournament. On the other side of the coin, it has really hurt Hawaii.

I think it's going to be a tight race for for the top between Nebraska, PSU, and Illinois. One of these good teams will be upset by one another. Agreed. I'm not ready to grant PSU the runaway title at this point. Other than the pump-up-the-volume home sweep of Stanford, their play has been a little too inconsistent to warrant full fan-boy swagger yet.

Four matches vs Illinois and Nebraska alone is scary, not to mention Wisconsin and some of the other teams in the league who are so tough on the road. This PSU's upside is scary, but I think the have downside that few of their teams over the past 7 years have had. I wouldnt start engraving any plaques yet.

They only play Illinois once like last year although this time it's at huff hall. After the first 5 games they are done with Illinois and Wisconsin and only have one left against Nebraska. Let's see how the freshman play on road. They have been at home through first two weeks. There schedule is top heavy like last year only difference is this year most are at home I think holcombe is more raw the Gonzales comming in. They didn't look as clean handling the serves as you have seen from past team. You could def see it in first set I think Gonzales handled the serve a lot smoother, same with Lacey. Keeton still has plenty of time to get to that lvl. Gonzalez also controlled the back court directing people. Havnt seen the vocals from keeton yet. I think Brianna will be fine. She showed in a big match even though being her first year starting she can handle the big game pressure. Remains to be seen if that changes on road. I can only imagine her connection with hitters will only get better. She doesn't have the offense Hancock and glass brought but with psu's hitters she probably doesn't need to.

Schedule matters in a big way.

Yeah I think the last few years Nebraska and psu have split. Illinois did beat psu last year in that epic collapse that is rare from psu teams and Wisconsin they have owned. Carlini still hasn't beat psu. If psu can get through those first 5 conference game unscathed, chances are prob high they win conference. They would already have put a loss on all those top of conference teams and hold tiebreaker on wisky and Illinois

Curious as to how long rose will go before he hands the reins to Rockwell. Most probably don't think it can come soon enough. Lol

So Atleast three years. That's my guess

Psu is on another run. That 4 peat that they said will prob never be duplicated could by psu again if they could take it this year. Would make next season very interesting but I'll slow it down and just get by this season first. Won't be as probable as last run because last run had all Americans at about every position

That way he leaves the new coach with a great nucleus of players to "continue the tradition."
