My standings are based on how each team will predictably finish in the B1G. I'm not considering preseason results, since they have no bearing on conference-only win-loss records. For example, Maryland currently holds an 8-0 record, but I think they'll go 4-16 in the B1G. Yes, I understand how conference v. OOC records work... thanks for the lesson I'm more saying that MSU has dropped nearly every competitive match and has a BAD 0-3 loss against Miami (OH) at home. Where is the confidence that they will win games in conference? Did it come from their 5 set win over Butler at home or their wins over IUPUI (gross) and Arkansas-Pine Bluff (more gross)? I thought you were talking about cumulative season records and how each team will compare at the end of the conference season, hence my response. Anyway, MSU plays Rutgers, Maryland, Indiana, Iowa and Northwestern twice; these 10 matches ought to be wins for the Spartans. On the other hand, tOSU only plays Maryland, Northwestern and Indiana once, meaning they'll have to upset some of the better teams to get as favorable of a record as MSU. Also, MSU returns Reinig, Minarick, Garvelink, and Fitterer, so I think the team will do well in conference play--relative to some of the other mid-tier teams and their players.

Big Ten Final Standings 1. Meechigan 2. Nebraska 3. Illinois 4. Ohio State 5. Penn State 6. Wisconsin 7. Purdue 8. Iowa 9. Northwestern 10. Maryland 11. Michigan State 12. Minnesota 13. Rutgers 14. Indiana Who would have thunk! PSU fifth?!?!! (i know, i know.. it's a joke........i hope). When was the last time PSU fifth or worse in the BIG? Ever? Can anyone pull those stats? I'm too lazy.. -__- Penn State has never finished lower than third in the Big Ten, and they've done that only twice.

Kubricks has just visited us from an alternate universe where PSU does not dominate the B1G. Sounds like a nice place. How do you get there? Do they have booze?

Glad to see you back. Psu third. Is that just to get rise out if me. Hahahahah. Nope, I already told you PSU is not winning Championship this year (just a gut feeling). I still think setting and defense against top teams will not be the same as last year. They might be settled by end of year, but they have tough matches early in conference. If they get through those early matches with wins then I am wrong.
I think Ill has the pieces now to play consistent and as long as they do; them and Nebraska are who I think will fight it out for the B1G title.
Care to make wager of some kind. You have the great odds. Anyone but psu. I Unfortunatly think it's pretty dumb to bet against psu. They just swept Stanford and you don't think the connection between setter and hitters is only gonna get better as well as Libero. Every year I hear someone talking about a diff team having pieces to beat psu yet they keep rolling out championships. They have best setting coach I'm college in Rockwell. I think Brianna will be ridiculously better by end of season

Kubricks has just visited us from an alternate universe where PSU does not dominate the B1G. Sounds like a nice place. How do you get there? Do they have booze? Have always operated under the premise there is a VT rule that posting is allowed only after drinking, often heavily. It seems this is so. I must agree with Kubricks' predicated order of finish. Cheers

Guys, we've been through the schedule thing before. Schedules won't matter much for the top four teams, although it favors them over the rest of the field. PSU plays: UW 1 (H), Ill 1 (A), Neb 2 NEB plays: UW 1 (H), Ill 1 (A) , PSU 2 ILL plays: PSU 1 (H), Neb 1 (H), UW 2 UW plays: PSU 1 (A), Neb 1 (A), Ill 2 All three play Maryland/Rutgers three times. The only difference is home and away. EDIT: It has been pointed out that ILL and Neb play twice. So, my point is wrong. Sorry about that.
The only thing I'm bothered by is that the badgers get PSU, OSU and ILL the first three weeks of the season, which may be too soon for their offense to gel completely with all the new faces. On the other hand, If that get past those three matches unscathed, or even with 1 win, watch out! We'll know a lot after that second week. As for some of the other teams... Purdue has the most favorable schedule. They play PSU, Ill and Neb only once. 5 out of 8 possible matches against top 4. They play 4 against Rutgers/Maryland. Michigan state has it almost as good. The only only play Nebraska twice. They get Rutgers/Maryland three times. Minnesota plays PSU and UW twice. They get Rutgers/Maryland three times. Ohio state has to play twice against all top 4 teams except Neb. They get Neb at home. Rutgers/Maryland three times. Michigan has it the worst. They play all top 4 teams twice. Rutgers/Maryland twice. Considering that, it was truly disappointing that Purdue did not do better in the standings. Michigan's position become a little easier to understand. Psu has Nebraska, Illinois and Wisconsin in first 5. That's not any easier
