Kinda curious about the wording and meaning of this poll--two people could vote for the same team although one might think it is overrated and the other that it is underrated.

Logically, it would be difficult to argue that Pacific is overrated, considering Pacific is not ranked.

The thread title does say most over or under rated team though.
So you could put them in the under rated category PG.

Let's look at how each team fared so far against currently ranked competition.
Hawai'i: 4-0 against the top 25 (beat UCLA, CAL, Arizona, and Santa Clara)
Florida: 1-2 against the top 25 (beat Kansas State, lost to Minnesota and Texas)
UCLA: 3-3 against the top 25 (beat Texas A&M, Santa Clara, & Arizona, and lost to Washington, Hawai'i, and Utah)
Tennessee: 1-0 aginst the top 25 (beat Louisville)
UCI: 1-2 against the top 25 (beat Utah, and lost to Hawai'i & CAL)
Pacific: 2-1 against the top 25 (beat Long Beach State and UCSB, and lost to Santa Clara)
Stanford: 2-3 against the top 25 (beat CAL & Arizona, and lost to Penn State, and Saint Mary's twice.)
Santa Clara: 1-2 against the top 25 (beat CAL, and lost to UCLA & Hawai'i)
Now let's use the process of elimination.
Of the teams listed Hawai'i has the most impressive record against the top 25. I think the Wahine are neither over or underated. In fact I called Hawai'i at 4 before the poll came out. Hawai'i is eliminated.
Florida is 1&2 but the Gators played Minnesota close. I don't know what to make of their loss to Texas but at 8 they're right about where they should be. Florida being neither over or underrated as of this poll is eliminated.
UCLA has played the most top 25 teams out of the list. 2 of the 3 Bruin losses are to teams currently ranked in the top 4 in the country. UCLA is neither over or underanked by the AVCA. The Bruins are eliminated.
Tennessee has played only 1 top 25 team (22nd ranked Louisville.) We'll come back to the Vols.
UCI is unranked but has beaten number 20 Utah and has lost to CAL and Hawai'i. we'll come back to the Anteaters.
Pacific is also unranked but has beaten number 13 UCSB & number 23 LBSU. The Tigers only top 25 loss is to number 12 Santa Clara. Pacifc looks to be a little underated, regardless that their 2 wins comes against conference foes. The Tigers sure shut the overzealous Gaucho fans up. ;D
Stanford is 2-3, the Cardinal could very well have been 1-4 as they should have lost to CAL. I wacthed the replay of the Stanford/CAL match today. Stanford didn't look that great. I think they may be a bit overrated at 14.
Santa Clara's 2 losses have come to teams ranked in the top 10. The Broncos also have a victory against Pacific. They look okay at 12.
Bottom line
Overrated
Tennessee (Tennessee hasn't played anybody yet)
And Stanford (Stanford is riding its history to a generous rank.)
Underrated
Pacific (The Tigers should be in the top 25)
The jury is still out on UCI.

Stanford is overrated in the poll. I said they weren't very strong when I saw them waffle through the match with Penn State. I'm just not impressed with any part of their game. No leadership, no passing, too much inexperienced youth that show more potential than polished skill at this point.
They're still ranked so highly because no one wants to be the one to drop them with an Olympian and a slew of highly recruited players ... and see them find themselves come post-season. Stanford isn't the first program to benefit from decades of success in a down year. .... right, Pacific? right, Hawaii (97)?

I still can't figure out how they made the tournament last year. (Well, actually I can, I just don't like that it was politics that got them in.) Pacific plays Stanford at the Spanos in a couple weeks. That should be interesting. We should be able to determine if Stanford is overrated and Pacific underrated if Pacific prevails. "It could happen." ;D

I predict that when UCSB visits UOP the Tigers win the first two games and then the Gauchos take the next three. "It could happen." ;D

I honestly feel that the Wahine are overrated. Yeah they have knocked off 4 ranked teams, but the teams that Hawai`i beat in the top 25 also lost to lower ranked teams as well. Yeah considering Hawai`i's loss of the seven seniors, it is still a big accomplishment to be undefeated at this point, but I think Hawai`i still should not be ranked that high. We've seen there brilliance, but we've also seen them struggle and their inconsistencies which has happened in almost every match. Even though they have always come on at the end to pull out the match, just all that inconsistent play, IMO, does not deserve a number 4 ranking.

Out of curiosity, how many of the Top 10 teams have you seen play? Based on what I've seen so far of the Top 10 teams, Hawaii has performed at a level of Top 5. Personally, I think Nebraska should be ahead of them. But what I've SEEN (not scores, actually seen play), Hawaii is Top 5 right now.

The Wahine are absolutely deserving of their ranking. To say they are overrated is to say that somebody else deserves to be ranked ahead of them. Who besides U Dub, USC, and Minnesota deserves to be ranked ahead of Hawai'i based on match results so far this season? a case can be made for Penn State (although they had to date played a much weaker schedule than Hawai'i) but not too many other teams. Nebraska should not be ranked ahead of Hawai'i, especially after losing at home to a team ranked at 25.
