There may be potential there but their recent play has not made them a strong contender going to 3 with The Edge and other close games. Other teams have injuries and players missing and still find a way to win. D1s coach needs to make better game time decisions

D1 seems to advertise this whole, "D1, national championship Loyola-caliber" coaching talent that supposedly takes them up and above all other clubs. However, I don't think that there's gonna be much talent coming over in the next few years, after this 18s team leaves. Their 17s team is seemingly imploding after finishing in 17th in nationals, and is now ranked around the 50s in Palos. There's no way that players will see this and decide to come to play with them. The 16s team is slowly losing their momentum, as they just have no one to fill in this libero spot. I think it's a bit preposterous to say that the 16s-2 libero, who was on the 40th ranked team in Palos, is now all of a sudden capable of playing on the 6th ranked. If this really was the case, then I don't see why he wouldn't have just been on the 1s team in the first place, and avoid having their outside play libero.

Biggest surprise of the day was probably Milwaukee Sting 16-1 going winless. Keep in mind the Wisconsin teams only have 2 or maybe 3 practices under their belts and all have new players. While the Chicago area teams are all looking to win and help their seeding for the Chicago bid tourney, this is the first time the WI coaches have a chance to see their players in game situations. They are trying different lineups, seeing where new players fit in and what they need to work on in practice to catch up with teams that have been playing together for three months. Yes, everyone wants to win, but there is more at play here. What you see this weekend is not necessarily what you'll see in January at McCormick Place.

And this is why Bracket B on day one would have been the logical choice, but we all make mistakes with seeding.

This anti-D1 VBC talk might get this thread locked.

Ah, this was in response to a comment about Sting 16-1s (although the comments hold true to all WI teams) and they were in bracket B. MVC was in bracket A, finished 4th yesterday and with their win over Adversity this morning are guaranteed of finishing no worse than 4th. Sounds like bracket A was appropriate there. Southport finished 10th at nationals as 15s and that alone certainly should qualify them for bracket A.

So you think a team that won a qualifier, lost to 1 15's team before June last year, and finished 3rd in California should start in the B bracket? Let me know when you host a tournament I would love to see your seedings. Adam does a great job of researching to place these teams in for the points series when they start their season. Your hatred and obsession with him is frankly kind of scary.

Same teams today in the bracket A semis as yesterday. Ultimate Gold will play MVC again and Bounce will play Runbird again. All matches went 3 sets except for Runbird.

D1 plays SPRI Mizuno in a few minutes. Winner will move up to A. Isn't this the last day of the point series; so no movement per se? Winner will be playing for 9th place, loser will play for 11th. SPVB Mizuno in 2, will play Southport 16's in finals of BB

Southport was 10 and MVC was 14 at Nationals. Good for them. That means they are guarenteed the same this year or higher based on your thinking. We will just have to wait for Nationals this summer. Congrats to your MVC 16 team today. So you are saying vuster4 is Adam. Werid? I would agree that your 18s team should be in bracket B since they finished 22nd at Nationals last year.

I think Sting should be seeded 3-5th for the final PPS. They have proven it over the years that they are one of the top teams in the midwest year in and year out at the age group so they should get a nice seed to start. This tournament is about creating the best matchups for teams. We started in B on day 1 because that is where we belonged, we were lucky enough to move ourselves up to A for Sunday after 2 hours of practice and missing 4 players. Sunday finished 5th to stay there to start on Saturday. It does stink for the team that finished 3rd in BB last Sunday that they might have stay in B for day 1, but if they handle their business on Saturday they will be back up on Sunday when it matters.
I never said if Adam was Vuster4, maybe he his maybe he is not. You again are missing the point. You constantly find a way to go out of your way to bash someone who helps promote the sport of volleyball. He runs the best events in the Chicago area and is always fair in his tournaments how they are set up.
