Even better yet, it is right after a basketball game between powerhouse Cleveland State and #2 Maryland. What could possibly go wrong? Not much, late match with potential snowfall or freezing rain ... senior citizens on the road ...

On behalf of all the past, present and future visiting teams' parents , we would like to thank the Nebraska Cornhusker Athletic Department for their "Mid West" hospitality. Quality seating!!! If all other teams in the conference would sell out every home match & have a waiting list for season tickets holders like Nebraska does maybe those other schools could seat the visiting parents in areas like Nebraska does. Better yet visiting team parents could purchase season tickets to every Nebraska home game & maybe, that's a big maybe, they could get a better seat to watch the match than where they sit now. The cost, around $17 per match plus a seat donation of at least $100. This is simply classless on the part of the Nebraska program. Every other program I know of in the BIG seats the visiting parents near court side so they can watch their kids play and the players can see them. Why someone asked? Because without the players (home & visiting) you don't have a show to sell your 8000 fans... and by extension, without the parents who paid for years of club and watched countless hours of kiddie v-ball you don't have a show either.
Bad on you Nebraska!

What does the parents' financial investment have to do with anything? Without the universities offering scholarships, building facilities, etc., all the DDs would be playing in a YMCA rec league to scratch their volleyball itch. It goes both ways, it's symbiotic. If the Huskers weren't a hot ticket they would probably comp quality seats. While I would like opposing parents to have better seats, Nebraska certainly isn't obligated to offer such accommodations, nor should they be expected to do so.

Given the recently finished match between Wisconsin and Purdue, if Nebraska wins tonight, Penn State would finish lower than it ever has before (4th) since joining the conference in 1991.

Baffling response.....but an indication that classless and clueless can abide simultaneously. May I ask where the Husker parents sit? I would offer that common courtesy seems to stop @ the Mississippi river, but I don't want to unfairly include Iowans.

That is a bit disheartening to hear regarding where the visiting team's parents get seated at Nebraska. Cook should intervene and make this right because it is not like there is that many parents that travel to away games.....30 at the most.

Wow...I hope you don't encourage your kid to whine like this. She must be a joy to coach.

And that just goes to show what a ridiculous standard PSU has set for itself. EDIT: I should add that PSU has lost 4 or more matches many times since 1991. So this year's ranking has more to do with the strength and consistency of other teams in the conference than some sort of historic PSU failure.

Why should you get a better seat than some of us Nebraska fans that are lucky to get to go to a game once in a season? If I want a great seat, I pay dearly for it. Get in line Princess like everyone else.

Please, keep listing all the things player parents are entitled to...

Wow...I hope you don't encourage your kid to whine like this. She must be a joy to coach. Dude, get over yourself. Giving good seats to visiting team parents/pass list guest is common courtesy in college athletics (and not to mention, mandated by the NCAA). And that is true of far higher revenue sports than Nebraska volleyball and places that sell out at far higher prices and they still manage to seat the other teams pass list guests near the sidelines/field/behind the bench. It's a crappy and classless move by Nebraska to put the opposing teams fans up in the rafters, it's been hashed out at least once a year since they started doing it, and I doubt it will change any time soon. It's ok to admit your program does something crappy. It is rather petty. Doesn't mean you shouldn't still be a fan. Or that others are wrong for pointing it out.
