That is a bit disheartening to hear regarding where the visiting team's parents get seated at Nebraska. Cook should intervene and make this right because it is not like there is that many parents that travel to away games.....30 at the most. Why should you get a better seat than some of us Nebraska fans that are lucky to get to go to a game once in a season? If I want a great seat, I pay dearly for it. Get in line Princess like everyone else. I am not a parent, and don't really care where I sit. I do understand the player's parents point of view though, and all other teams in the other power 5 conferences sit the opposing team's parents somewhere near the court.
HH, I know you understand this is not the best approach for Nebraska to take; it is not a rule I guess so they may choose this path, but to have 15-30 seats available is not going to break the bank.

Not baffling at all. Classless would be not comping them tickets at all. Please, keep listing all the things player parents are entitled to... Actually that would be illegal. NCAA rules mandate it, as they should.

I hear you but....Nebraska is an entirely different an of worms. We have huge demand for these tickets while most teams have no problem accommodating this with ease. No, its not going to break the bank but fair is fair. I wanted to take my youith players to a game a few years ago. It would be great to get a break on seating and tickets but that is not possible at Nebraska because of demand.

Didn't we have this same discussion last year?

Baffling response.....but an indication that classless and clueless can abide simultaneously. May I ask where the Husker parents sit? I would offer that common courtesy seems to stop @ the Mississippi river, but I don't want to unfairly include Iowans. Not baffling at all. Classless would be not comping them tickets at all. Please, keep listing all the things player parents are entitled to... What if all the other B1G programs identified seats for the Nebraska parents comparable to the seats their player's parents receive from Nebraska? Regardless of a sell-out they were all in the upper deck in the corner. You may not care, but I guarantee the Nebraska players and their parents would be very upset/disappointed and wonder why they received such %*$#ty seats.
I hope this would not happen, but if it did...... no one would really care from Nebraska?

NCAA rules mandate it, as they should. Then I don't understand the issue. Nebraska is complying. Those seats aren't terrible (for anyone that's been in Devaney). I agree that providing better seats would be nice, but if the department can't justify it, then I don't think it's an egregious slight toward visiting parents. Non-premium seats in a volleyball venue is completely different than non-premium seats in a football stadium. The latter would be far more questionable. But whatever, they have the right to complain just like some of us have the right to not think that complaint is legitimate. Back to focusing on the match.

I'm sure some parents would complain but I wouldn't feel sorry for them. Being provided nice seats is a luxury but if I were a parent I wouldn't think I was entitled to premium seats.

I am all for what you wanted to do, and you should be able to do this, but segmenting out 20-30 seats 6-10 rows up courtside would not affect that.
Also, I sent you a PM with an idea that may be valuable.

Wow...I hope you don't encourage your kid to whine like this. She must be a joy to coach. Dude, get over yourself. Giving good seats to visiting team parents/pass list guest is common courtesy in college athletics (and not to mention, mandated by the NCAA). And that is true of far higher revenue sports than Nebraska volleyball and places that sell out at far higher prices and they still manage to seat the other teams pass list guests near the sidelines/field/behind the bench. It's a crappy and classless move by Nebraska to put the opposing teams fans up in the rafters, it's been hashed out at least once a year since they started doing it, and I doubt it will change any time soon. It's ok to admit your program does something crappy. It is rather petty. Doesn't mean you shouldn't still be a fan. Or that others are wrong for pointing it out. You are not getting it. Its not about the money but the demand. Nebraska and Hawaii have a unique problem that no other teams have. They have huge demand for those seats. Why should a parent from an opposing team get better treatment than a Nebraska fan that has been waiting years for an opportunity to attend a game? You want a better seat then pay for it.

Don't bring Hawaii into this. They are good hosts. Last I checked, their visiting player pass block was right behind the visiting team bench.

At this point I have to agree with Husker Jen, I have a feeling things are about to be said that would be regrettable. So.......looking forward to excellent programs getting after it.!
