I have no problem with Santana as POY But i would say SSS is more valueable to gopher team. Gophers win more games with SSS setting, Goehner and Wilhite hitting vs Schau Setting, Santana and Wilhite hitting. Wasn't this same gopher team .500 in big ten last year...and the really only change is SSS setting? Not sure I agree about winning more games option 1, than 2. The two biggest changes from 2014 to 2015 are SSS and Santana's health (and she's still not 100% imo). Even so, it's not between SSS and Santana. It's between Carlini and Santana. I can't see giving the POY to the 3rd place team's setter, no matter how good she is. It comes down to how you define player of the year. I have no issue with people that believe POY (MVP) should come from 1st place team But if POY is defined as the best player in the Big Ten....(what player would be picked 1st in a draft by every big ten coach) then Carlini should win. I tend to believe POY (MVP) should come from the 1st place team.

I think it's wrong to attribute all of the gopher's improvement to SSS, although she is responsible for a lot of it. Last year we thought Rosado was a downright liability, and she also really increased the level of her play, as did all of the Minnie passers. Santana is a much more mature hitter this year.

The All Big 10 team could be interesting. Here's how I'd vote: S-Carlini OPP-Drews OH-Santana OH-Birks MB-Washington MB-A Rolfzen L-Wong Orantes Aren't there usually like 12 players on the all conference team? They may do that....I feel that waters it down a lot and makes the honor less meaningful. You get 7 players in your starting lineup, you should have 7 on the all league team. On the POY, I think it is based 75% on the player and 25% on how the team does. I think Carlini is the best collegiate player in the country, but she likely won't win since her team was 3rd.

Weird...Haleigh Nelson doesn't appear in blocks or hitting percentage...I looked earlier in the day and am 90% sure Haleigh was #1 in hitting percentage.

B1G site is wrong. Nelson is hitting 0.422 overall, and 0.432 in the B1G, or 70 and 60 points higher, respectively, than Rolfzen. She's hitting 30 points higher than Washington in B1G matches. Washington's numbers overall are higher because PSU plays a lot of overmatched teams in preseason.

Whatever code they use to make those lists from their database sometimes fails to list names or stats properly, or even at all. I've noticed it several times this year.

The BIG is the best league in the country. Look at the setters....in any other league, Seliger Swenson is the all league setter easily.
If you like Nelson, over Rolfzen, no debate here at all. I think you could choose Washington, Nelson, A Rolfzen, or H Tapp and be totally justified. There is a lot of talent out there.

I wouldn't be surprised to see four B1G teams in the FF (if the committee splits up the top teams to make it a possibility).
