I feel like this might be the easiest regional that I can ever remember. If someone told Haley a month ago, he would have to get through Creighton and one of LMU/Kansas to get to the final four, he would probably be doing cartwheels.

Since volleyball really doesn't exist outside the Pac 12 or Big 10?

Kansas is not to be underestimated though. No one really knows how good Kansas actually is because they're not in the Pac or the B. All we have to go on is that their only two losses come from Texas, one of which went to 5 sets. If Havilli and Payne show up in a match against USC it could be close.

I saw Kansas play in their sub, they have a great right side, but I wasn't impressed, they will need more than just Payne to beat SC.

Nothing will top PSU's 2010 regional Oklahoma, Duke and Missouri, forgot about that one, yea that was weak as well.

Pablo sees USC as a 63% favorite against Kansas if the two played. Which is a closer match than one between Washington and Nebraska or Texas at home against Wisconsin.

I would view Washington/Nebraska or Wisconsin v Texas as tighter matches than Kansas vs USC. USC is better than Kansas in every position except Setter and maybe MB.

All this talk about USC / Kansas....
Am I the only one seeing a LMU/USC regional final? I think LMU matches up even better with Kansas than they did with Stanford. They are going to stress Kansas, LMU digs everything and Sponcil just keeps getting better(which is scary)

Just about every year there is a team in California like LMU, that plays fast with great ball control. They may be slightly undersized, but they play with a chip on their shoulder, have a great coach, and they will be playing in their back yard.

Consider that trojansc was the only one I saw on the board who called the Creighton win over North Carolina.

USC would probably rather play LMU in the regional final than Kansas, so I'm sure they hope trojansc is right too.

Kansas is good, but I think LMU would frustrate the crap out of USC. They are used to seeing that fast offense in practice. The only advantage USC has is the physicality, but I could see LMU's offense giving Ogoms and Ruddins fits, along with USC's pins constantly getting dug because LMU's floor defense is spectacular.

True. SC does struggle against teams that have dug them well ie UCLA and Washington. But even if LMU were to put a on a digging show against USC, I'm not sure LMU has the firepower to actually win the match.

I also feel LMU is due for a letdown, they have played out of their minds like against Stanford and UCLA then lost matches they shouldn't have.
