I remember watching a beach match last season between LMU and USC and Sarah Sponcil went toe to toe with USC's superstar pair of Holmes and Claes. She is an impressive overall volleyball player.

So, USC is playing in the nightcap? Very odd for the top regional seed (who is not the host school) to play the late match, right?

That's a very normal 8PM start time locally. Not really that strange.

Nebraska and Minnesota are playing the early matches because that is the norm for the top seed unless the host school is involved in the match. Strange to me as I don't recall a top seed playing the late match. The advantage is to get more rest.

Kansas will beat LMU and will give USC all they can handle to advance to Final Four.

TV most likely the reason. ESPNU probably had a timeslot available at 11 PM EST and they wanted to air the #1 seed over the other match.

Found this SD Regional thread on page 5, so seems this Regional is generating the least amount of interest of the four. Is USC that much of a lock to come out? I'll be there tonight and am very interested in seeing the LMU-Kansas match, which stylistically has the same intrigue for me as the UCLA -Texas match. I wonder if the absence of Stanford will negatively affect the attendance tonight...guessing it'll be much like this thread...light.

Any volleyball fan living in the San Diego area should come just to watch Bricio play.
