Well when you go to Irvine and get beaten by a team that has one maybe two players who are good enough to even be on your roster and you LOSE to them, you gotta keep a good sense of humor about yourself! ;D

Remind us again, but didn't Long Beach lose in the first round the past year or is it the past 2 years?

It's always important to not take these things too seriously-even when times are good. It keeps things in perspective. The sky is not falling for the Beach. One team showed up, the other didn't.

Island, that's pretty much the way to sum it up Thursday night. We Beach fans just hope that our team shows up because when they do they are pretty darned good I guess that's why you actually have to play these matches

Yeah, there would be a lot less homeless coaches and assistants if it was just fought on paper, huh? The excitement in volleyball is that anyone can win. No matter how big or fast the other team is, it comes down to how the game is played out, not how the game is played overall. Teams can hit really well, block well or dig well and still lose!!! Keep the spirits up Beach fans. It's the tournament where I lose sleep. The season is too long to be worrying.

I know she's not CURRENTLY injured Beachman, that's why I typed in past-tense... I could be wrong, but I heard she WAS injured - and that was the reason why she didn't see too much time in the beginning of the season...
But yeah, we have a lot of talent on this team... Add Debbie's daughter and Daley, should be interesting...
GO BEACH!!!

I thought the Beach would struggle this year, but this season has been completely topsy-turvy. The playoffs should be wide open. I think it will come down to who is playing well at the end of the season and is able to peak in the NCAA'S.

This team has struggled, at times, this year but unlike last year there is enough depth that we have still been able to win, most of the time. Between the flu, and a lot of nagging injuries it has been very difficult for Brian to keep a consistent line-up on the A Side in practice. As he always says, "if you can't practice daily, you can't get better", and volleyball being the team game that it is, it is absolutely imperative that your starting line-up gets plenty of practice time between matches. I still feel that we have more talent than most schools and we are still a year away from really being a powerful team. I just hope that we can finish in the top 2 in the conference and get into a regional....that would be a good accomplishment for this team I think!
