So why am I not surprised? After all, they were not playing at home and they were playing a very good, underrated team.

Those "away" games can be killers, sometimes.

Ouch! That's gotta hurt. We've all felt that pain at one time or another.
Besides Alexis Crimes, did anyone else play reasonably well for Long Beach?

Take away Crimes' numbers and LBSU hits .073 as a team. Hetzer was 10-5-21 hitting for .238, but added nothing else on the stat sheet. Other than Mazzarella having 4 kills on 12 swings, no other LBSU player (besides Crimes, Hetzer and Mozzarella) hit above .033.

I was using this match as a barometer of the teams growth from last season. Sadly I did'nt see any. If Natalie Uhart is healthy why the h--- is she not playing? This was her second match of the year, and the first was the other loss at UOP. OK Brian, why are you keeping one of your best players on the sidelines

This was her second match of the year, and the first was the other loss at UOP. OK Brian, why are you keeping one of your best players on the sidelines Excellent question that many of the LBS loyalists are asking. Mariko Crum has had a bad back for 2 weeks and didn't practice at all this week, yet she started and played the first 3 games tonight, with absolutely no ability to jump, reach, or twist in any manner. Our hitting tonight was bad but that was because the passing was absolutely NON-EXISTENT, as our back row play was even worse than that what we showed in Stockton.....this team is still somewhat unpredictable. If Mazzarella has to chase balls her setting is very poor.....passing and setting were the difference in this match,,,,,ours didn't exist and theirs did! If our passing had been good enough to set the middles, Alexis would have have 35 kills and we would have won, but as we all know, if you don't pass the ball you usually don't win....
