How did Florida end up with such a high RPI for so long, despite all the losses in the SEC? That's what we need to figure out!

Based on where teams were ultimately seeded, RPI mattered less than pablo...or pablo was more closely matched with the minds of the committee. Think the concensus of this board was pablo is better than rpi is better than coaches poll. No idea how FL managed to stay so high except their away win against TX and neutral win against OR.

As far as I understand, we have two home tournaments next year: B1G/ACC and HotelRED. The B1G/Pac-12 is likely off for good. I'm not sure how flexible the B1G/ACC teams are, but am assuming it will still be Louisville and North Carolina, the latter having replaced Notre Dame, who I believe pulled out with their coaching change. Better for our RPI, though.
I'd want to make sure each tournament has at least one lower conference champion contender.
I really hope that at least one of the two away tourneys is within driving distance. We could do Ohio probably, and UNI would be no sweat. NIU would be a day trip, wouldn't even need a hotel.

For RPI opponents, it's not about how good a team is, but how good their win-loss record is. Look at who they scheduled: JMU: 22-8 American: 27-6 Hawaii: 29-2 FSU: 24-7 And in the SEC, they only played the 2 RPI bombs Georgia (5-25) and LSU (9-20) once. Tennessee was 21-12 despite a 110 Pablo, and even Mississippi St. had a winning record. The SEC's short schedule (18 games) takes away 12-13 losses from conference teams (compared to a 20 game schedule) and gives every team 2 more competition dates to load up 3-4 extra matches against cupcakes and shift their win-loss records higher. RPI math is too easy to game.

Just noticed on the Wisconsin Twitter feed that redshirt freshman Hannah Juley is leaving the team.

Not surprised here, it's hard for a talented setter to be sitting on the bench for her whole collegiate career. I think once Carlini left Hilley would take the spot. Would not be surprised if a few other badgers end up leaving.

That leaves Robbins as the backup along with the freshman walk on. Also opens up an additional scholarship for another middle which I suspect is already in the works.

That was probably a very hard decision for her but she's going to make another team that much better. Juley has a lot of potential.
the off season could get interesting

Hannah is a great kid and an outstanding setter who would be a #1 setter on many D1 teams. It is a tough situation to be between the Carlini era an the Hilley era. Her parents are WI alums I believe, so this must have been a difficult decision balancing where you would like to be with the drive to make a contribution as a starter. Wish her all the best!

Notre Dame needs a setter, stat!
Good luck to Hannah - wish things had worked out better for the Juleys at Wisconsin but I am thinking everyone left on good terms and for good reasons.
I'm excited to see where she will land, as I imagine she will have a good chance to start.

Oh pooh. Well, I guess we won't be running a 6-2 after Lauren leaves. I really had some hopes for Hannah, but I'm glad she retains all of her elgibility at least. You figure the Robbins transfer had to have something to do with conversations between Sheff and Hannah early on.
The one thing that worries me now is that we are really banking on LC and Hilley staying free of injury, although Robbins certainly seemed quite capable in preseason.

Hey...Chappy graduated today and signed a pro contract to play in Puerto Rico. So I guess she is gonna keep playing after all!

If she wasn't up for a fight for starting role against Hilley, why come to WI?
