I see everyone is penciling in Holman to start in the middle. I think that's a huge mistake because Amber will have a lot to say about that.

Teams normally play with two MB's and the departure of Hall via graduation opens up one of those spots. Not sure how inserting Holman there has any impact on Amber or her role within the team.

I know nebraska has a scholarship to play with next season. Also know many players put in to nebraska for transfer consideration. ... don't know if any happened to be elite OH. Boender is pretty lethal. .. but never hurts to bring in someone as well.
So many teams are stacked next season. Nebraska will need to step it up another knotch.

It seems so far that people are not giving Annika the consideration she deserves for the starting outside spot next year. She started this year as a 6 rotation outside after raving remarks by John Cook about her improvement over the summer. It didn't quite work out this year with the lack of experience against some of the tall blocks (Texas), but she led the Huskers in kills against Pittsburgh earlier in the season (not necessarily a tough opponent, but still). I believe that she will be working incredibly hard for that spot and Cook loves 6 rotation players. I believe that is her spot unless Boender outplays her (which I personally don't see happening) or Cook brings in an elite transfer OH. Otherwise, I would love to see Anni take that spot and I think she would be very successful there after building some confidence. It will be interesting to see play out!
Very excited about this team next year!

IMO Amber, and Kadie will not be moving. Annika could replace Fien but she needs to step it up.

Just that Holman was mentioned first over Amber more than once and also some talked of moving Amber. I said to start at MB. I don't know why you're talking about 2. You don't think I know they need 2? Amber ain't moving anywhere whether Holman starts or not.

We have the #9 overall recruit coming in at MB in Stivrins, and we also have an opening at OH. Considering Amber's versatility, it's not surprising that some people are considering her on the left with a prospect like Stivrins coming in at MB. Based on this year's results, Amber has first dibs at MB. I don't think anyone will disagree with you on that. In fact, almost everybody has Amber starting at MB. I don't know what Holman has to do with any of this.

But not to worry, Cook will figure it out.GBR

Well, your original comment certainly made it sound like Holman as a starting MB would somehow be pushing Amber aside. For the record, I will be quite surprised if the two of them aren't the starting MB's for Nebraska next season.

I said penciling in Holman as the starter now is a big mistake. I don't know what you're talking about. Go back and read my post.

You're out of your mind if you don't think Holman will be one of the starting MB's. And you're not very intelligent for underestimating Amber in the middle. It's gonna be one helluva battle to see who starts there. What are you talking about one of the starting MB's? Only one will start.

No. You're talking about which position Amber will play (M1 vs. M2) and/or what rotation we start lined up as (we usually start in rotation 1). There are more "starters" than the ones who happen to be on the court first.

I'm sure Cook will be subbing players in and out like he does! He has enough talent to do just that. It will be fun to watch the season unfold. GO HUSKERS

Boender has a heck of an arm but she needs to improve her conditioning if she wants to start next season.
